Whaaaaaaaat? A ducks fan liking his own player over a player from another team? GTFO.

Back to the topic at hand, if Ryan is not available then he is not available.

Kesler is damaged good until he proves otherwise on the ice. If you're lucky that could happen in calendar 2013. He's worthless today. Ballard? The guy Canucks fans have packaged in every trade offer for 2 years? And a whole 2nd too?

You forgot the "I'm not really serious" emoticon.

From the outside looking in Statsny/Duchene (which ever Colorado deems more expendable) for Ryan straight up is probably the right deal.

Not really going out on a limb here, but I'm going to say that you'll find very few GM's who would agree with your assessment on Kesler's present value.

Where do you guys come from anyway?

lol Spezza
a year ago everyone was down on Spezza, he has a good one, and Getzlaf has by far the worst of his career and things change.

I'm sorry but who got the call for team Canada in 2010?

You can put Spezza in a defensive system with Greening, a rookie, and butler, a career AHLer rookie, and he'll still hover around a point a game because he's that good. You can't say the same for getzlaf.

Spezza>getzlaf and the proof is in the pudidng, sorry.

Also as the poster above said...11 goals? PLEASE, spezza would have to develop some type of muscular disease before he only put up 11 goals in a full season no matter who he played with.
Really that's funny, Getzlaf had 4 straight PPG seasons prior to last year while Spezza in his previous 3 was not at that level. Factor in toughness, intimidation and sheer physical force Getzlaf is a better player by a decent margin if we are to believe last season was a fluke

Assuming Kesler was healthy, which he isnt, this is basically Beauchemin+Cogs for Ballard + 2nd.

Why would the Ducks ever do that? Ballard is overpayed and your 3rd pairing defender. Beauchemin is amazing in Anaheim. Only in Anaheim.

Every GM in the league knows Kesler is currently damaged goods. He won't be playing before December at the earliest according to his own agent. Torn labrums are serious business and the Ducks have plenty of recent experience to prove that. As such, most GMs would consider him off the table until he proves his worth again. Unless, of course, your name is Tambellini.

Don't post much around here, and I'll probably get flamed for this but that's OK. Have always liked Ryan, and with the departure of Parise, I think he can be a good fit in NJ.

Would the Ducks be at all interested in a deal like this:

Merrill, Tedenby, NJ 2nd rounder this year (assuming we forfeit the 1st for the Kovie deal)

for

Ryan

Zibanejad, Stone and Greening for Ryan. I wouldn't consider any trade for Ryan that included Milan Michalek.

As a Sens fan and big Jason Spezza supporter I have to confess that Ryan Getzlaf is one of the few players I'd trade him for even up.

I think Columbus should be significantly interested in Ryan if it can be established that Ryan won't refuse to play there.

Out of curiosity, I am wondering if Columbus could land Ryan without giving up either Jack Johnson or Ryan Murray. I'm obviously not holding my breath, but DO think a valuable package that benefits both teams could be assembled out of what Columbus can afford to trade. An example would be:
Derick Brassard
John Moore / David Savard / Tim Erixon (whichever Anaheim prefers)
NYR 1st 2012 or LA 1st 2012 (whichever Anaheim prefers).

That would give Anaheim a young 40-50 point center who still has plenty of upside, a very young and promising defenseman, and a 1st in a deep draft.

If Anaheim would prefer someone like Dubinsky or Johansen over Brassard I think some negotiating could be had (it wouldn't automatically end conversation).

According to Portzline, Brassard isn't going to cut it. Johansen is where it would start.

Tedenby literally has zero value to the ducks Merril has some
