I don't mean to keep rehashing old wounds but I think this is exactly what I had intended with the roster reset. There have been a bunch of trades still, including a couple of blockbusters, but at the same time everyone is trying to stay competitive and nobody is becoming a black hole franchise.
I bring this up because I wanted to give a HUGE kudos Killem Dafoe, NYR Sting, and Kershaw for completely revamping the way trading and player signing has gone during this game. Great work fellas. All my changes so far have worked out for the best to this point.
I've really enjoyed the trading more, and the resigning with Kershaw was nice too.

Also, on a seperate note guys PLEASE make sure that when you sign these contracts you update them in your roster thread because that's really the only way to keep tabs on them. I'm not going to log every signing/re-signing in the first couple of posts and after a couple of seasons it's going to get hard to remember. That's why the template is extremely helpful because even with the contract extensions I can still see when free agents will be up.
Btw are the ratings that have been posted actually real???

How many roster updates happen? And do all of them get used in game/SIM?
They generally do one after preseason, and a few throughout the year especially at the trade deadline. I don't think ratings go up and down much after preseason though.

The actual roster updates won't matter because once we start the sim season the roster updates have no effect on the players overall during the season.
I will probably wait for the first player update because it incorporates rookies in that one and go from that roster update.

This is the only draft where we are using the real NHL entry order. From now on just to make things as simple as possible we are going to assume every team has every pick each year. If I were to update the draft order from real life trades and then the trades in the game it would get sloppy.
So just assume you have 7 picks from each draft from now on.
