73rd in pts in which he had a career yr offensively. A lot of others behind him were injured or played in stiffling defensive systems. (Richards, Carter, Kesler to name a few)
Callahan has scored at a 60 point pace more than once, but he tends to break one bone or another blocking shots. This past year and the one before, in fact, had a similar pace, but he lost fewer games this past season. Top of that, the Rangers themselves play in a "Stiffling defensive system".
He's not an elite goal scorer, or a superstar 1st liner, but he's easily one of the best 2nd liners in the league.
Kersh, you're not the type to judge a forward by point totals, I'm actually surprised.
Callahan is are captain he would not have the C if he wasn't great and he misses games each season because he throws himself in front of the puck to help us out.
Girardi is our best D-man he would not be on the first line and in the all star game if he was not.
