The best I can say for him is if he keeps it simple he won't hurt the Sabres. It's certainly good news (good news sports-wise, no one likes these serious health issues) for you guys. GKJ is right: an AHLer on an NHL roster. I was bummed when Regier didn't get another d-man at the deadline. This was exactly what I didn't want to happen.
Sort of like a Chris Therien?

I wouldn't be suprised if the Sabres just roll 5 defensemen and Fitzpatrick gets around 10 minutes of ice time

That's what I'd expect as well. Same with us if Jones ever sees playing time.

With Hitchcock getting the last change does it really matter how much ice time he gets?

It will if he notices if the Sabres defensemen are getting tired OR if Fitzpatrick takes a shift after a stoppage, he'll want one of the top 2 lines out there if they can.

This is a situation where this team HAS to take advantage. The other team losing its top defenseman if the Flyers can't take advantage -- it's inexcuseable
