I was at the Habs home-opener in 2001 vs. the Leafs and stood for the spine-tingling ovation for Saku Koivu as he began his battle against cancer.

The vibe in the building that night was electric...thousands of Leafs fans and Habs fans standing side by side and bringing down the house for him. It really made it click in how powerful support can be and how much more important some things are than the games and rivalries that we engulf ourselves in.

From that night forward, I've wished nothing but the best for Saku, both professionally and personally. A class act all the way.

If you would have ever told me I would have a Habs-themed avatar, I would have called you crazy. Seeing Saku go down changed that for me. Having gone through scares with Berard and Sundin and a few others...there is nothing more I want then a fully recovered Saku Koivu.

Get well, Captain.

While I can't take down the Drive for 25 avatar until the playoffs are over... It is an awesome avatar, and I will sport it if (God forbid) Saku's out after the playoff run is over.

A big thumbs up to all of you leafs fans who have posted in this thread. Very classy indeed.

I'd use it, but I lost the image for the avatar I use currently, lost the program to make it, and don't want to have to re-do it again...

Just right click it and click "save picture as" into my pictures. Make sure it's there and you will still have it.
