Connolly or Steckel for Christian Thomas, what else is needed to get this to work? Like seeing second generation kids playing for the team their dad did.

I'd think about that, actually.

I'd hate to give up on Thomas because I feel that if he works on his strength his game translates to the NHL because of his speed, hands and shot.

From what I've read and seen, his shot might be the best of any player bar none not playing in the NHL right now.

How about we sign Daymond Langkow? He could be had for pretty cheap I imagine, he's good for 30-40 points a year and plays a solid 2 way game.

Makes no sense for the Rangers. Redden isn't even on the cap.

Nah. The Sabres are also looking for a veteran 3C, and Langkow is a former Flame, which obviously means he's coming to Buffalo.

The rangers have some nice prospects they can use to acquire a 3rd liner. The youth and depth at D really give them freedom to part ways with some of those players but That goes against their mentality.

Or a bag of pucks, or a slurpie, or the rights to the worst prospect in your system even if he no longer plays hockey, or the steering wheel for a older model Hyndai, or?

No the slurpie would be massive overpayment.

If JT Miller makes the squad, and he is as advertised a playmaker with speed, and Richards stays at 1c, you'd think Stepan is the 2c.

But if as is without question Kreider/Hagelin on the left and Callahan on the right can skate circles around Stepan, that means an open mind should consider if JT is best at 2c, 3c or 4c, without being surprised if the speed issue makes it 2c.

That could make Stepan a more than solid plus 3c, unless he gets moved for an upgrade or a nice righty D

We wouldn't even move Stepan for Rick Nash.
