Is it an entry level job? Or something higher up?

I'd imagine they'd be simple exercises. ie like for accounting, they'd ask for a bank reconciliation/simple cash flow.

Can anyone suggest a good trades school in the southern ontario region? Trying to get my welding license (TSSA and CWB) I've done some research already but just taking a shot in a the dark, maybe someone on here has his/her's already. Cheers.

I only do temp bar work at the moment...

But I'm applying to join the (British) Army as a Combat Medic...

I like the idea of invading foreign countries for oil and legally shooting people...

I kid, I prefer the idea of running around saving lives...

Wow, make sure you let us know if you choose that route. That's awesome.

I sound very rude, but I have no idea how a person can be unemployed for three months.

I have hit rock bottom in the past. I was unemployed and had bills. I took a janitorial job to break even. I didn't care what I did as long as my bills were paid. I then risked my credit and opened a business that is thriving. I'm making more money than I ever dreamed of making.

My point is in the hard times you have to do anything if you are motivated. Money is money.

I've been unemployed for about a year. My problem is that entry level for help desk/IT field technician/IT specialist/etc. REQUIRE experience (usually at least a year), yet they are entry level... so yeah...

I have a University General Science and Civil engineering degree.

After one month and bills piling up I just couldn't take it anymore. I applied for anything that would pay. I'm in a different situation too though. I didn't want to work the "9-5". I quit my job and made myself unemployed until I found a business to purchase.

Waiting to hear back from around 10 applications. My e-mail is blocked out at the moment so Microsoft better get back soon!

Although, I'd assume that they'd send letters rather than e-mails.

I graduated with a BS in Information Technology with a Security Specialist Concentration and a minor in mathematics and I have yet to find a steady job. Had one for two weeks before they though I wasn't right for the job and the other was for about 1.5 months because it was a 2nd half of the summer thing, both were IT/help desk stuff. I don't mind a 9-5 job, but I will admit, a 2nd or 3rd shift would be awesome, but I like watching sports too much (usually 7PM to 9:30PM), so 2nd shifts might suck .

I also supposedly have an interview tomorrow, but communication has been a problem. I got asked about if I wanted to do the interview at 10AM Wednesday, and I said yes... but no answer of any kind back to me for confirmation on the interview. I sent him one less than an hour after he sent the original email. Nothing. I sent him one around 6PM today. Nothing. I would really like the job because it intrigues me and has good pay, but I don't feel like showing up as if it was unannounced... unless you guys think differently?

How far away from where you'll be interviewed at are you? If you can call at ~9 and try again to confirm for 10, I'd go that route... but not sure if that works out for you timing wise. If you get no answer then, I say **** it and show up and explain how you tried to confirm, but didn't get a response... and how you wanted to make sure you didn't waste his time by no-showing, if he was expecting you.

If it's that early in the day, it could take me anywhere between 40 mins to an hour to get there. It's something entry level too, as in it doesn't even mention experience needed. $43500 a year, plus year end performance bonus, health, dental and life insurance. 401K, paid vacations, personal time off and **** like that. Just this whole situation is really bleh...

I just called the guy, and it went to voicemail. Left a message... he's the IT director and he hasn't messaged me via email or his mobile? The hell?

Apparently my emails got sent to spam... grand... but yes, it's on for tomorrow morning.

I'll give my update I guess...Didn't take the job at my mom's work, but I just finished my first semester back this summer with a 4.0 and I'm continuing my path to become a nurse.

I did go to the interview. Took a test for it. Was in the top 5% of people who took it. Found out the guy likes to hire based on (even without experience) potential and he doesn't even look like he's in his 30's. Overdressed like crazy but he liked me enough to show me around the entire place, and everyone seemed nice.

phone call went well. Have to submit some writing samples now. Not sure who my competition is but the woman on the line made it sound like there were no roadblocks to getting hired.
