Andersson played Swede Div 1 last year, Blomstrand played SEL.

Andersson is close to a non-prospect this year, he doesn't seem to have progressed much since his post-draft year, and might actually have regressed. In my book he's only a slight step above guys like Rai, Schneider, Westerholm, Tochkin and Anthony, who will need a smaller miracle to just get an NHL call-up.

I've begun to lump Andersson into the category of "OMG his contract doesn't expire for another 2 years! How is this possible?" Group.

I was following him closely in the SEL, his post draft year, he never really seemed to get consistent playing time, and then had a few injuries. All the while Tommernes took the reigns and rocketed up Frolunda's depth chart. Andersson has been playing in the Allsvenskan and on the 2nd pairing for Orebro. He did not even dominate in this lower league. The past aspirations of him being a late round gem in the form of a defensive D man version of Edler are long, long gone. From the prospect camp reports (what little there is), they said he lacked mobility and didn't stand out. Not really what you want to hear about a guy who has been playing against men for the past 3 years.

Although i am curious to see how he plays with the wolves, I want to know whats missing. I think he should have come over 2 years ago. Now he may very well be a write off. Gradin's missed with more than a few of "his" picks for quite a few years. I am sort of glad we didn't take a swede this year, and that's coming from someone who wears a tre kronor shirt proudly even though i am not swedish!

Andersson may actually fair better on the smaller ice... but I remember thinking the same about Rahimi too...

i'm of the opinion that none of those guys you mentioned will ever do anything noteworthy in the ahl, nevermind nhl. and i'm very skeptical of the chances for Archibald, Honzik and Grenier as well. i don't know enough about the rest of the remaining to have a solid opinion.

Voted for Archibald.

Showed very well at both the prospect and regular camp last year, but struggled with the pace of the AHL. Went down to the ECHL and was a dominant power forward there as a rookie.

I still think he has a very intriguing (and desirable) skillset, and expect he'll establish himself as a Wolves regular this year, and that his stock will go well up. Big physical bottom-6 bodies with decent hands are hard to find, and sometimes take time to develop. Look at Dwight King, who also spent a chunk of his rookie pro season in the ECHL.

I can't believe Grenier hasn't been chosen yet. Even if he turns out to be an epic fail of a pick, his ceiling is incredible. Potential has to weigh into these selections IMO.

Went with blomstrand, like his grit and speed that has been talked about. Grenier was also anoption

The last one at #19 is where our prospect pool seems to really fall off a bit of a cliff imo.

That said, voted for Hutton, as he's a guy who seems to have some solid upside, and at least hasn't set too far afoul of looking like a promising prospect yet. A benefit of the doubt sort of vote for me at this point.

Not to say one or two of these guys might not somehow claw their way to an NHL gig one day, but Price was the last of the real strong prospects for me. Things look pretty dodgy from here on out. At least we're getting to #19 before things really take a dive though. That's something. And there is some intriguing potential buried in the bottom of this list...but it's not something i'd gamble on coming through to the NHL any time soon.

Voting for Grenier. Decent junior player with a great frame but certainly a long-term project. Doubt he ever sniffs an NHL roster but he has the most upside of anyone on the list as far as I'm concerned (excluding the new draftees whom I don't know enough about).

Got to assume a remark like this is either:

a) someone who hates anderson and thinks he can make people not vote for him, or

b) a 15 yr old who thinks remarks like this actually work.

Sad either way.

I voted Hutton, but was complete toss up with Grenier. How do you compare these guys? From what I have seen its like trying vote on whether apples or oranges are better.

The club doesn't even think he's worth a contract right now.

Disagree that his ceiling is 'incredible' in any case. The guy is a 60-point junior player as an overager. If he had any grit, he might project as a decent 3rd-line body. But he's softer than a wet kleenex.

I'd be shocked if he ever played a pro game in our system, at this point.

I agree with you. But for the time being, I'm willing to give Archibald, Honzik and Grenier the benefit of the doubt before I write them off. But they will have to show something more this season if they are gonna get a contract/an extension.

It's an in-joke of sorts from a previous poll, can't remember who the original prospect was about.

At this point, it's like someone said - a roll of the dice. I'm not sure there's anybody who's clearly ahead of the others. Though I do like Hutton, Beattie and Myron's upside.
