well, if you believe the road is the best place for team-buliding/bonding, the schedule should be a blessing... shake the kinks out early, then when you need a big run to close the season, you're at home..

I'd say the alternative of long homestand to start the season and long roadtrip in february would be worse...

Good for him. I hope he succeeds in that role and stays off mopeds.

Mark Van Guilder (12 G, 15 A in 72 games last year) and Andre Bouvet-Morrisette (39 G, 33 A in 63 games last year for Drummondville in the QMJHL) signed to AHL deals.

Is Cam Reid not expected to be signed and if not, do you guys think anyone signs him? I think he made a huge mistake leaving SCSU for the WHL.

I expect he'll get at least an AHL deal from us. He was at prospect camp earlier this summer(stark contrast from Taylor Stefishen a few years ago, who was in a very similar situation.

I´ve watched the last Game of Djurgårdens IF at the European Trophy, becuse i wanted to see Aberg playing.
From the fist 5 Shots on Goal Pickard faced, 3 went in
But apart from that, he hasn't looked that bad and his stats are good

Its way to early for me to tell you something about Abergs game, because i only watched him 20minutes, but he has a hell of a shot.
Unfortunately he missed the net , but his release and the power was very good.
The way he skated at the wing with Speed and then fired his shot at speed reminded me a little bit of ovechkin

Of course not as good as him, but the same style of flying around at the wing and then blasting a wrister.

But again it was only one game.... And aside from his shot and one good defensiv game, he didn't stand out. And in his 3 Games he has still 0 Points.

But my plans for the next season is to watch as many games as possible from both Aberg and Salomakki.
And of course i'm gonna give you updates from time to time

I expect 3.00 and .900 by the end of the season. Those were Chet's Milwaukee stats in 7 games (1-4-1) from 2010-11. He was the worst of the 5 goalies who played for the Admirals that year. Milwaukee won the division with 44 wins and 102 points in 80 games for a .637 winning %.

I would trade Pickard for a 7th at this point. Maybe a team like Cbus or Philly that desperately needs goalies would take him.

Columbus would likely take him in a trade...if we took back Steve Mason and his contract.

It doesn't hurt us at all to have Pickard in the system. His contract will expire next summer and he'll be released.

Don't be absurd. We're not trying to dump Mason. And with Dansk, Korpisalo, Forsberg, and York in the system, with McIlhinney as the AHL vet, there's nowhere for Pickard to play even if we wanted him.

It's funny. We have a ton of prospect goalies, and oodles of defensemen at all levels, but folks still keep assuming we need plenty of both and are perfectly willing to take on everyone else's borderline cases. Usually in exchange for one of our forwards - the one thing we legitimately DO need. Kind of like how folks keep assuming that any midrange forward can be sent to the Preds in exchange for a roster defenseman.

DNDTR. It's a ****ing plague where the Jackets are concerned.

To be fair, I said for a 7th...haha

But yeah, you do have a lot of goalies. Nevermind.

Joonas Rask scored twice yesterday for Jokerit in a 7-1 win over Fröunda. Highlights(5th and 6th goal):

He played left wing on a line with Teuvo Teräväinen and Teemu Pulkkinen.

Nine of the current Top 10 prospects are forwards. That is what happens when the Preds sign Ellis, Blum and Josi.

Just thought I'd hop in and give you a quick update..

After three regular season games Pickard is really making a name for himself, and he's growing to become a fan favorite. Some outstanding performances in the three games he played.

Åberg is a huge letdown this far, he's been getting first line minutes and PP-time and contributed with close to nothing.

Throwing in a post-game interview with Pickard from todays game if anyone is interested..

Hetenyi will be the #3 goalie/ #1 in Cincinnati.

Moore will play in Milwaukee, possibly as team captain. Foss will also be there. Valentine will be paired with a non-physical D-man.

I never saw Bitetto play in Milwaukee last year. He did dress for a few games. Either I wasn't there or they were on the road. He might be back in Cincinnati.

MVG and Bourque will probably be in the top 6 forwards. Henderson will be a second or third line winger.
