Kovalev

Quote:
The former NHL veteran told TVA Sports this week that he's set to return to North America after playing in the Kontinental Hockey League last season and has already had tryout offers.

"I've received invitations to training camps and hopefully (can) begin skating towards the end of August to be ready for next season (in the NHL)," he told the Quebec-based sports channel.
You think Holmgren's extended an offer? I'd take him on for something like $2M. He's definitely not like a Jagr, but stick him in the bottom 6 and on the top PP unit and he'd fit in well I think.

Hell no.

Time for the young guns to have increased roles.

I can't see it. His stats in Russia last year were pretty poor, I think his time is over.

For Jagr I'd say yes, but Kovalev... no. Last time he played, he looked old ans rusty... and he's even older now.

Not no. Not hell no. **** no.

What on earth made you think this guy could play bottom six minutes anywhere other than a high school team? He's done.

That'd be awesome. There could be a montage of him getting ready to go to school, making sure his hair was hip in the mirror, putting on his letterman jacket, putting on his ray bans, all while the song "back to school" plays in the background.

80's movies are awesome.

I'm sure Homer is thinking "if it worked with Jagr, it'll work again." Could already be a done deal in his mind.

Do I hope it happens? No.

But can I see Homer offering it? Actually yes. They like adding vets who can compete with the younger players. In the end though, the younger players have won.

It's time for the young guns to carry the team. We don't need another veteran. Especially not a crappy one.
