I have seen some twitter posts saying the the fans were told after the last lockout, it could result in lower ticket prices. Does anyone have any hard evidence that the Commish or any owners made that statement?
And here I'd assumed you just weren't spry enough to be part of the disco era...
I evidently need to do a better job of respecting my elders.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!
The more I read about the potential for a lockout, the more it seems like Bettman ought to be hung. I thought he was Commissioner of the entire league not just of the wealthiest teams.
Ryan Lambert (Like most of you, I'm asking myself right now: Who?) takes thinly veiled shots at our market here....
He's a professional troll. Gets off on getting people upset. Routinely searches for his name in twitter so that he can find all the people complaining about his stuff without including his twitter handle, then he retweets it.
It's a shame the otherwise good Puck Daddy site gives him virtual column inches on a weekly basis.
if all the blue jackets fans attack me today im gonna get upwards of two dozen angry tweets (((
Looks like a grand total of 3 responses to him thus far...good for us for showing restraint. I propose biding our time, then unveiling a massive banner at the All-Star Game.

The Jackets did lower their STH ticket prices after the last lock out.

Actually he used the possible All-Star game cancellation as an opportunity to attack the Columbus market. That was a bash the Columbus market blog entry. Better men than him have based our market with far more skill.
He was correct about the stuffing of the box by the home team. After all we've already discussed it. At this point JMFJ is our leading candidate, he got that right as well. I think the blind squirrel found a nut. After all, I'm sure every CBJ fan over the age of 4 came to the same conclusion about who the stars are on this team. It's not like we are alone in the league on that regard.

I was trying to find a way to adequately sum up how I felt about this entry. Thank you for putting it so succinctly for me.
Mind overmuch if I steal it? Dunno if I actually would, but I'm tempted.

It wasn't nice that's for sure, especially for a team plagued with enough problems.. That said, few in the league are concerned about the all-star game, in all reality the fans of the league other than Columbus are concerned about not seeing their team play a 2012-13 season and could care less about Columbus’s all-star game being cancelled..
The thing that gets my crow, Atlanta got the last lockout and now possibly Columbus? That's pure bad karma.... The next NHL/NHLPA contract season all-star game needs to go an original six team!
When will the morons at Puckdaddy respect Columbus?
I'm guessing when the team actually does something.
It really sucks because we all know what great fans there are in Columbus. We aren't the only ones, there are literally thousands of them. Even in Spokane, I see a guy walking around the arena all the time sporting either a Blue Jackets Ray Whitney or Rick Nash jersey, so there are even fans all over. When the wins start coming, people will take notice. Until then, we have nobody to blame but the years of carefree management and play. Personally, I don't like what PuckDaddy said, but we have nobody to blame but our ridiculous team philosophy (or lack thereof)
**** the haters really, us as a fanbase, especially on this site, stick together. We will be good one day, and we will be the ones laughing at the ones who laughed at us.

....Right?
If the Tampa Bay Lightning are any indication, yes. That franchise was considered a joke and shat upon, then 2004 happened....

So diss the team, not the people that are NHL fans like you and me. If there's empty seats, it's because of team performance and not because of NHL viability in Columbus.

...and until then, I'll continue throwing jabs at everyone else.
