What's really terrible is that if there is no season, we won't be able to take advantage of NHL Moments Live which are sure to be filled with awesome Giroux moments. Heck maybe some dominant games from Bryz or one of the many other great players on this team...but I'd put money on Giroux moments, I know they're gonna include his 3g 3a 6pt game against the Pens which is awesome
i wonder if I was the bad luck guy. The year i decide to get season tickets, a possible lockout looms. I probably should cancel, and just use the money down the road lol or wait till the new deal is in place then get the SS tickets.

I think the owners will cave eventually. When the sport is doing well ( and right now hockey is probably at its best since right before the lock out...financially) the owners will want to keep the momentum going. Look at the NFL potential lock out...there were insane demands from both sides and when push came to shove they decided to keep things as is because of the success of the sport.
Honestly, I after today it feels like the tide has turned into a lockout season.
I never thought that the owners in a sport that has one third of its franchises on life support would be so stupid as to create a work stoppage but then there is the NHL. The owners greatest enemy is not Fehr and the NHLPA but themselves. Some of these owners do not know how to run a professional sports franchise and never will. Like a lockout is going to mean that the owners won't have to pay the premiums on their debts?
There will be hockey owners and players cant go a yr without it it would hurt the sport and give it a black eye. Owners make millions and players get paided millions to play a sport they love to play,Get to the table and get a deal done for **** sakes only the fans get hurt bye a lockout but we keep paying the big bucks to see the sport.
Don Cherry thinks the NHL will be shut down for 2 months
Possible..hopefully not...
Quote:
“I’m afraid it looks like two months. Everybody’s talking that they’re going to be out two months,” Cherry said after the walk Friday evening. “It’s a lockout, it’s a shame. Everybody’s making money but everybody wants more money, and wouldn’t you? And that’s the way it works. It’s too bad.
“It’s hard to believe we’re going to miss hockey for two months.”
for non-Flyers players yes...take a look at the players on hte cover that had played for Philly at one point in their careers and how their careers went with us...
97 - Beezer: Epic failure
98 - Forsberg: injuries
99 - Lindros (only actual Flyer at the time of the game): injuries/personal
00 - Pronger: injuries
The good thing is it's been over 10 years since anyone Flyers related has been on hte cover, so maybe it's a fresh start.
On a related note, why hasnt Crosby ever been on the cover? As much as I hate him, he is supposed to be the "face of the NHL". Kind of odd if you ask me considering Ovechkin has been on the cover
I read that the 2 Fehrs, Bettman and Daly met this morning.
Chris Johnston @reporterchris
Just to update: Bettman/Daly/Fehrs held private meeting this morning. Scheduled CBA talks were then called off in the afternoon.

Indeed.. Didn't see the 2nd tweet until just now
Nobody knows what the first meeting was about or why the 1 pm meeting was cancelled.
