He was picked 20th overall, most guys picked in that range don't break into the NHL until 21/22 anyway. Kuznetsov may have played over 100 KHL games but he looks less likely to play in the NHL within the next 2 years than Bennett does.

It'd be super friggin sweet if RS can fleece the ducks again, and convince them that Dustin Jeffery is a 2nd line center in a package to land Ryan! GET IT DONE RAY!

I'd listen to any offer for Bobby Ryan that doesn't involve 71, 87, 18, 58, 29 or Joe Morrow. If they insisted on Sutter (I know Shero won't move him), then I'd need a good checking center back.

Is joe morrow suppose to be that good? and if they wanted despres you would give him up?

Joe Morrow's their best prospect IMO. Despres is a close second. Would need to see the entire deal, but he wouldn't be a dealbreaker for me if we're talking about Bobby Ryan.

From what I've seen of Morrow, he looks like he has the "potential" of a smaller version of Shea Weber.

I strongly believe that Joe Morrow has top pairing upside. A guy who could potentially play 23-25 mins a game, and be a fantastic PPQB. Pretty much what everyone thought Whitney could become when he was drafted.

If he's really good how was he drafted 23rd overall? Did he slid going into the draft, or did his stalk rise coming into it?

Bennett, Kennedy, Despres, 2013 1st, 2014 2nd.

Whatever it takes, man. It's a superstar right-handed winger, with size and insane hands.

Will never happen though. Shero is less desperate than me, and I suppose that is a good thing. Still, I'd kill for Ryan. Partly because I just know Philly will end up with him and terrorize us.

How was Shea Weber drafted in the 2nd round? Guys develop.

I think Morrow brings a fairly complete package. He's probably one of the best skaters in the system, he has a missile for a shot, he can hit, he was said to be one of the strongest in his draft class and he was near the top of every category in the combine.

The knock on him was his decision making in the defensive zone, but you can coach that. He has everything that a player either has or they don't have. I think he'll at the very minimum be a 3-4 PPQB.

Bobby ryan imo is a top 5 right-handed player in the nhl right now so i would offer up alot to get him and hope he resigns after his deals done and hope he dont go to the flyers .

Bennett
Jeffrey
Maatta
2013 1st
for
Bobby Ryan

Ducks get- A highly skilled prospect that can be a top 6 option for them in a seaon or 2, a 3rd line center, a great defensive prospect, and a 1st.

Penguins get- A 40-50 goal guy player with crosby, and a guy to play on the otherside of crosby/malkin on the powerplay.

I must have missed the part where every single good player ever was drafted first overall.

Philly has less to offer than we do & shot their wad with the JVR deal to Toronto....

Did we get Ryan yet? I expect a progress report by mid-week.

Well, it's super fun to pump some old threads up again.

You didn't have to do that, good for you.

Well, look what happened. He trained hard and turned out to be a NHL-player after all.

And finally:

But do we still need Bobby Ryan and what would it take, if Ducks decide to re-sign both Getzlaf and Perry?

Would be cute to have Beau's old babysitter Mr. Bobby with Crosby one day? What if Ryan wants to sign with Flyers after his contract ends? Anyway, here's my bold idea:

Ryan and Sbisa for Letang and Jeffrey (of course Ryan, Kennedy or Adams for example could play center at the time Geno is on IR)

Letang has all the tools but brains are what they are. He's going to get somewhere around ~$6M+, so do we need him in the future when we have Pouliot, Morrow, Despres, Maatta etc.? Letang is not ideal QB specialist and even Martin is doing better job at the moment and Sbisa would be very solid acquisition.

FORWARDS
Bobby Ryan - Sidney Crosby - Beau Bennett/Pascal Dupuis
Chris Kunitz - Evgeni Malkin - James Neal
Matt Cooke - Brandon Sutter - Pascal Dupuis/Beau Bennett
Tanner Glass - Joe Vitale - Tyler Kennedy/Craig Adams
Zach Boychuk

DEFENSEMEN
Brooks Orpik - Paul Martin
Luca Sbisa - Matt Niskanen
Simon Despres - Deryk Engelland
Robert Bortuzzo

GOALTENDERS
Marc-Andre Fleury
Tomas Vokoun

And this is just one idea now that we have so many promising D-prospects in our pool for the future and Despres and/or Niskanen could take Letang's spot as more offensive guy who brings the puck from neutral zone. We could also make a trade to boost our current defensive roster more.
