They are far more of a sure thing in concert than they necessarily are on their albums.

Besides, part of the fun of being a Muse fan is sorting out their bad ideas from their good stuff. It wouldn't be Muse if you didn't want to throttle them a third of the time.

Time to retire, Muse. You're not Radiohead, just keep doing what you're doing, stop trying to evolve.

What kind of Backstreet Boys **** was that?

I don't have any high hopes nor anticipation for this album at all now. Hell, I was going to pre-order a deluxe edition today, but that's on hold indefinitely now. These songs are just completely under whemling.

Yeah seriously. There should be a law that forbids artists from being happy. I want angry break-up songs, Matt!

I don't know if this will make any sense to anybody but while I love this new song and Muse will always be my favorite band - this new direction is total ********. I like the songs and I still think the direction they're going in sucks.

I like Madness. It builds to something decent, though the stupid backing thing throughout it sounds stupid. And Kate Hudson really needs to go away. That or Muse need to stop self-producing their stuff so they can get someone to provide actual direction when they're recording.

Wtf is it with British bands needing to experiment after their 2nd album? Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys, Keane (although that one was a success imo and they went back to their old sound afterwards), Kasabian, Coldplay (as different as Coldplay were gonna get lol), and now Muse wanting to do something different (after 5 albums but still)

Stick to what you do best ffs. I hate the excuse "people would get bored of it"....no they wouldn't. People listen to the same **** pop over and over again, so much of it sounds alike so they won't care if your albums sound alike as long as they're good.

How did Franz Ferdinand experiment?

And if anything Kasabian got less experimental after their debut. And infinitely worse into the bargain.

Every thought that maybe the band might get bored of writing the same music over and over? It's their music, let em do what they want. They don't owe us anything.

I don't like the song.

Agreed. They have every right to experiment and do whatever they need to in order to keep making music. Doesn't mean that we have to like what they make. I personally liked madness, but I can't stand their other single. I'll still be checking the album out, but I'm definitely not overly optimistic.

I have no problem with the band doing new things, I actively encourage it. My main thought is, how can a band that wrote these

Release this piece of **** song.

Madness is absolutely lazy.

What the **** happened to Muse? Whatever happened to the epic sound design and composition

Seriously. Not even close.

The only good thing that came out of Resistance is a soundtrack for 24/7 Winter Classic. Love the third part of the symphony.

MK Ultra is not even close to being an amazing song. Good song but far from the Origin of Symmetry level.

Lifelong Muse fan here - MK Ultra is not an amazing song. It's good - it's really good when watching live but compared to Muse's past work, it doesn't even touch it. It's not even the best song on that CD - that distinction goes to the Exogenesis series which IMO is one of the best things they've ever done (on ironically, their weakest CD.)

Personally I find Showbiz to be their weakness, aside from Sunburn and Showbiz itself, it's probably their weakest stuff. The Resistance was pretty good in my opinion, aside from Guiding Light and I Belong to You.

I've been a life long Muse fan as well, and can honestly say I like every single song they have ever released, no matter how long it took for them to grow on me. I honestly can not see this one growing on me though. The only bright spot on it is the sheer vastness of the "I NEED YOUR LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE" part. I have no worries about the rest of The Second Law though.

On a side note, how is MK Ultra NOT an amazing song
