I get slightly appalled every time one of these young guys makes more than Tavares.
The Tavares contract is a ridiculous steal, everybody knew it at the time so i wouldn't expect these other top young players to get that type of steal.
I expect Hall to get a little more than Skinner unfortunately but will be thrilled to have him locked up even at $6 mil/yr. He was on a ridiculous goal scoring pace after his very early season struggles, pure stud.
Not trying to derail the thread or anything but if he gets 6x6 after 2 hortened seasons then what does Yakupov get if he doesnt have 2 shortened seasons?
Or Eberle after a PPG season?
They are going to be paying 4 guys over 6 mil on offense all on their second contracts. **** is going to get nuts.
im only going by the numbers, but I dont think he deserves 6x6, 5x4.5 sounds more fitting
After the deal Skinner just got theres no way Hall is taking less. Skinner (.73 ppg) has 20 more games with 12 more points (if you're just going by the numbers). Hall actually has a better ppg average.
Not saying he should make substantially more, but theres no reason Hall should take any less than Skinner.
He's not the big man on campus until Chara and Bergeron retire.

This is Seguins first offseason where hes the leading scorer and best offensive player. I wanna see if he comes back in shape and bigger like last off season.

Yeah agree. Tavares was a steal and everyone knew it. Pretending Hall is in the same class (at least in the short/medium term) is wild speculation and probably very foolish based on injuries alone, not to mention clearly inferior offensive production, skillset and upside.

Tavares didnt take a major discount. At the time it was market value unless you can show me a lesser/equal player coming off of an ELC that was paid more. Skinner (.73 PPG/A) was just overpaid and now that will dictate what similar players are paid.
