I never get a chance to see the Oilers play. One the one hand, he has three points in 54 games. On the other hand his plus minus was even with only three points in 54 games...

Wish I knew more about the player.
Hard hitting, young defenseman that plays what Don Cherry calls 'old time hockey.'
Plays with an edge, sticks up for players. Needs better agility and speed but his game slowly gets better. Felt his game was stifled by Tom renney.

Stifled by Renney and his concussion after that one fight.
I think Pecks is a solid player though, easily has top 4 potential and is already pretty good in his own end and around the boards. I'd say that unless he puts it all together though he is likely a 5/6 guy on a cup contending team.
I'd say the Oilers would need to pitch in more to acquire Talbot.

That sounds about right, I think value is probably relatively close. The idea is intriguing though, adding Luke Schenn and then Theo Peckham would certainly inject some physicality into the Flyers D in a hurry.
Talbot is worth all his contract and more come playoff time. Peckham is not worth Talbot in my honest opinion. Max seems like a great locker room guy, and those guys are just hard to give up.
Edmonton needs size and not another C/LW, Edmonton passes. Peckham had a bad year last year, would rather see what he does this year. Edmonton needs D with grit more then another bottom 6 forward.
If your going to make a proposal, don't insult them with a bunch of smurfs.
No, talbot is a glue guy who had a career year and has great relationships with the flyers core. Talbot is loved in Philly too and one of the best energy/bottom 6 forwards in the NHL. Would need overpayment which peckham clearly is underpayment.
Talbot's the kind of guy that is worth much more to a contending team than he'll ever be in a trade. It would have to be an overpayment and directly targeted at a substantial team beam. Peckham doesn't cut it.
Max Talbot is not a guy that I would trade if I were Philly. After seeing how losing Ian Laperierre affected the Flyers team in 2011, I won't get rid of a Laperierre clone.
Not sure why EDM would do this.
We already have Belanger and Horcoff as bottom 6C. Talbot plays gritty like Petrell and Eager but is not big nor good at faceoffs. We also have Lander who should become a player like Talbot in a few yrs.
Also, it is better to have depth on D ... A team in today's NHL needs 10 NHL ready Dmen in their system. In EDM's case I fully expect our #7 dman to be playing top 4 minutes at some point in the season due to injuries.
Peckham is a guy I would love to acquire, that said I don't know what I would be willing to give up for him. If Edm is looking for size up front and a guy who has a little talent I would try to make an offer around Sestito and a 2nd or something.

Pass on Sestito and the Oilers already have two 2013 2nd round picks and really don't need another. I cannot see anyone that the Flyers would be willing to trade that the Oilers would want.
Flyers need a bonafide #1 going forward, or offense from the point. Peckham offers neither. Our squad shouldn't have problems playing stout defense or hitting. Providing offense may be a hurdle.

Talbot would be a huge overpayment for Peckham.
We've got depth defense, it's a #1 (or dang good #2) we need.
Max Talbot will retire a Flyer. Hes the kind of player you never let go of. Heart and soul. He fills the void Ian Lapperriere left quite nicely with alot more scoring.
