I don't know that Byfuglien is a great fit here. I think, to really use him most effectively, he has to be the cannon on the top PP unit. For us, Subban is that player.

Nothing cause they would most probably be asking for Pacioretty and Subban in return. Ain't going to happen!

Subban is younger and already much better at even strength.

If we lose Subban our 1st rounder next year will either be McKinnon or Jones.

Trading Subban WITH the 1st rounder would be professional suicide for Marc Bergevin.

You don't want Byfuglien, he is a defensive liability, significantly overpaid for his value. Subban is Doughty-like in his potential with good coaching and structure, it would be as dumb as trading Patrick Roy. Kane is intriguing, not likely to move unless he pulls a Kyle Turris. If the Jets trade him they would be severely depleted at LW, without getting a LW in return, which Montreal can't offer. I don't think any combination of Burmistrov, Antropov, or Ponikarovsky could fill his void. The fact these two teams are in the same conference makes the trade even less likely. For argument's sake I would say that Plekanec, Gallagher/Tinordi, + another prospect/draft pick might get you Kane.

Good for the offense, but without Subban our backend will be a joke.

Subban and Price are the two MVPs on the team right now imo. Remove either one and we disintegrate.

Detroit needs some help on D and we need some help on the LW position. How about a Kaberle++ for Franzen type of deal. Maybe kaberle plus a prospect (e.g. Holland) would be enough...

Franzen, Plekanek, Leblanc
Pacioretty, DD, Cole
Bourque, Eller, Gionta
Prust, White, Moen
