i think you are wrong.ribs has what we have been lacking for years,,raw playmaking talent.sure he has no speed and is small and soft but he has the ability to create lots of offensive chances.he sees the ice well and passes well.nobody on our team has the creativity play making wise that he does .sure he has glaring weakness',but every player on our team does.koivu ,ryder, kovy all have drawbacks.we need his playmaking ability, especially on the power play.and he is cheap,,,1mil is a bargain.

I just don't think his vision, passing and agility are top six forward at this level. For eg, watch Koivu's agility and speed when he manouvers himself into open ice in the offensive zone. I just don't see that w Plek....at least not yet. Hope i'm proved wrong though.
they're different types of players.. koivu is a 100% playmaking center.. pleks also likes to shoot/create chances for himself

it Would be better to save some money and see what are youngsters can do for us like those center : mikhail grabovsky, kyle chipchura, maybe corey locke...

The Free agent is rarely the best solution for getting a winning team, we just have to look at teams that spent big money last summer like chicago, pittsburg...
We have to evaluate our youngster before spending big money on old players like we did with bonk... We also have to get rid of zednik to replace him by kostitsyn, let go sunstrum, maybe bulis ( if he is not happy with 3rd-4rd line duty)...

Plenacek can be eventually as good as Jarrett Stoll. If given the opportunity
