if i have a 8k stick and the blade is broken… can i fix it with a non tapered blade?
if i have a 8k stick and the blade is broken… can i fix it with a non tapered blade?
i have a Reebok 8k stick with a broken blade.
I am thinking about to find a replacement blade and fix it…
since i am using the crazy ovi curve of CCM…
i'd like to have the same curve…
but i could only find the U+10 blade on hockey monkey with the crazy ovi curve.
can the U+10 fit into the 8k shaft?
no it will work, but you do have to put it in the butt end, which will in turn throw off a lot of the balance/kick point of the stick....or you can attempt to cut off a little at a time to try and fit it in the usual end but i would use a tapered blade, and you will most likely need to add a end plug...i have done it with a few sticks (using the butt end) and it definetly changes the feel of the stick but its better than just throwing it away or buying a new one if you can find a good/cheap blade
The U+10 is a standard blade, you have not choice but to check the butt end without cutting off an absurd amount. What I'm saying is that the shaft walls are thicker so test that out by grabbing any standard blade and seeing if it could fit in the butt end.
