Not sure if he has already been invited somewhere, but if not, we should definitely invite Emil Lundberg to training camp. Undrafted, but 6'3", 201lbs, he is that big power forward we could use in our bottom 6.
Thoughts?
I also like Matt Campagna, would he be worth a shot?
The Canadiens arent closed minded because they offered him a chance.
I came to the conclusion that he is an ungrateful player who thinks very highly of himself as the rest of the League does not by his saying "we'll see". A player with a good attitude and without an overinflated sense of self would have said that he is "thankful for the opportunity" or something like that.
Who knows, maybe we have another Rene Bourque or even a Mike Ribeiro in development. Especially now since he has his own thread on HFBoards.
Maybe he's had multiple invites. He did score 40g and was top 11 in WHL scoring.
"That’s where I’m thinking of going, but we’ll see"
Some people are really getting their panties in a knot over this one line?
Maybe he's thinking of giving up on hockey? Maybe he's injured and doesn't know if he'll be ready in time? Maybe he's had a few offers and is trying to sort them all out?
It doesn't sound bad to me at all. Just sound like a guy who's trying to keep it cool until the decision is taken.
Seems to have a style similar to Gallagher, me likey.
Also, people saying "screw this guy, he has attitude issues!" are the reason that we have great player interviews featuring such insights as "we need to get pucks on net and stick to our game plan."
You dudes need to take it easy, so what if Montreals not his top choice for training camp.
There's a lot of players out there that would rather play elsewhere compared to Montreal which is evident come UFA period

The legend that is Emil Lundberg lives on at HF Boards.
"My uncle is a lucky man to be able to win it as many times as he has," said Brendan, who's off to Montreal on a tryout with the Canadiens next month. "I've seen the cup several times, I'll have my picture taken with it, but I won't touch it, and I won't drink from it until I win it myself."
Now I have a very good idea why this Ranford kid was not signed by the Flyers and then passed over by everyone in the draft.
He has a serious attitude problem. He is given a chance by the Habs and he replies with a "we'll see"?
Send this idiot down the road to nowhere.
How do you know that he didn't have a couple of our others?
If he had 2 or 3 offers on the table, a smart man would look to see which opportunity presented him with the best chance to make the NHL. He's years away from the NHL, but that would still be where I'm looking rather than a team that was well built.
He might have had offers to turn pro in Europe or something too. The kid is trying to decide his life, you don't do that overnight.
The only thing I'm interested in is why he didn't get signed originally. If it was something like conditioning, maybe he's worked extremely hard on that and become well conditioned now.

I think you're reading an awful lot into 2 words. We don't know the context or what else he said or if he has multiple offers or even if the author quoted him accurately. Anyway, no risk to inviting him.
Another wildcard for the camp. Always nice to give these kinda guys a last shot, you never know if they can get their head on straight in time to realize their chances are drying up.

How many of these invites made the Habs in the last 20 years?
