Easily one of the best of this style. I thought it was only available on the west coast, but per their website they distribute in Pittsburgh.

for those who really like the pumpkin beers - it doesn't cost >$100 a case, you dont need to ask your distributor when it will arrive (then ask him to hide it for you), but the sam adams harvest pumpkin ale aint bad. gets the job done if your in the mood for pumpkin but can't get your hands on the good stuff.

What is the going rate for a case of this? I tried finding prices but failed.

Sipping on 10 Barrel's Kolsch. It's another winner for these guys. Not as good Double Mountain's kolsch, as it's a bit bitter for the style, but extremely tasty nonetheless.

Looked up the distributor that has it in town and their list hasn't been updated since 7/9. Hopefully I'll find it, I asked around my friends and none of them had heard of it as well.

Looks like they distribute to Erie too.

I poked around a few places here with no luck yet. I'll probably have to head to Belmont Station or John's Market.

I've been striking out the past couple of days. All I've found are German Oktober fests and Sam Adams and Tommyknocker Pumpkin.

Mellingers, SaveMor Beer & Pop Warehouse and McBrooms always seem to be good places to check

I really like Dead Guy, haven't seen the others from Rogue in stores, but I haven't looked for them, either. Next time I'm on a beer run I'll have to check.

Anyone hitting up the Ribfest this weekend @ Heinz field?

I'm thinking about checking it out. It's so tough to find good BBQ around this city, so you gotta capitalize on any opportunity!

Is this what is usually held at the IC Light Amphitheater at Station Square? I went to that last year and found it to be kind of a rip off and only had one good set of ribs (I am admittedly picky about ribs due to the majority of my family being from the Mid West and going to college down south).

You know what they say about "beggars can't be choosers" bro.

It was funny... I was flying back from vacation and had a layover in Charlotte, NC for an hour or so. Ended up hitting up their food court and got a big ass plate of ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. It was hands down better than anything I've had in Pittsburgh... and we're talking about an airport! Haha.

For someone who loves BBQ, the options around here really suck. Union Pig and Chicken is decent and Clems BBQ (on 22) is great, but that is a haul. I gotta take what I can get.

I was always a fan of PJ's barbeque in Center Township when I lived in the burgh'. They had the best pulled pork I had in that area and make some pretty awesome BBQ sauce called "Damn Tasty". My mom usually gives me a bottle when I go home.

Hey I'm just reposting this here for gialloneri since his thread got closed.

Hi all,

Apologies if there was one of these recently, but I'm writing this quickly at work and don't have time to properly search.

I'm visiting Pittsburgh for the first time over this coming labor day weekend, and I'm looking for a couple of restaurant and bar recommendations for the visit for Saturday night and Monday afternoon. Especially, if anyone can recommend a good bar for Saturday night where a few USC fans can happily catch the Hawaii game, that would be grand.

Thanks in advance!
I don't watch college football so I can't really help with that part. But as far as a good place to go for food and beer, Fatheads on the southside is excellent. I would recommend it for monday afternoon if you like a good beer with a good burger type meal.

Great haul, Husker.

I need to find a good taproom/bar/whatever somewhere around me still. My beer drinking, outside of my afternoon at Stone, has essentially ceased.
