If you're simply looking for a roof over your head, I'm sure it's fine.

Turns out my friend who works for the Sheraton in Montreal can get me a friends rate, so it'd only cost me $90 a night. I'm sure that's more than fair. Good times.

Hey folks, what are some good places to get Rangers (or even Islanders) merchandise for a bargain? My brother's in NYC and I want some NYR/NYI t shirts.

Modells are always cheap...34thstreet near macy's and 42nd street near Grand Central Station (Don't have the adresses in my head, so look around these areas...)

macy's has some...

Cosby's at 34th street across from madisson square garden is where I got my Hagelin player jersey - haven't seen it anywhere else..

Cosby's may be expensive, but how many other places actually carry Rangers gear in the summer ??

The Modells in Times Square on 42nd between 7th and 8th usually has a decent amount of stuff. They still may have playoff stuff that's on sale and they have Nash tee's in now. You could also try the NHL Store on 47th and 6th but cheap doesn't exactly fit in with that store.

Best place for inexpensive shirts/hats? EBAY. Do you REALLY need to buy it in NY?

No big deal, my brother just wanted to get me something from NYC and I asked for a shirt. He ended up getting a Callahan one for 20 at the NHL store.

Hey guys, I'm flying into JFK next Tuesday... land at about 10PM, and then have to head towards the airport around 12-1 the next afternoon. I've never been to NYC before, so wondering if there is anything you'd suggest doing real quick... even if it's just getting a pizza at a close by location.

How easy is it to get to and from CP with the airport?

Meh on the bridge.... and grew up in Chicago, so skyscrapers are nothing special to me.

Literally just changed the first flight a few minutes ago, and haven't even booked a hotel yet. Suggestions?

Oh, and turns out we don't have to be at the airport the following day closer till 4 or 5 in the late afternoon.

The city is about an hour from the airport
For the hotel if recommend an airport motel, unless you're looking to spend 200+ dollars

Don't want to spend anything expensive, will probably just use the hotel to have a room to basically shower and take a quick nap. Saw a few around the airport for $80-$100... how is that area?

Not a great area. Certainly nothing touristy in that area.

Great restaurant right near JFK. Not cheap. But not Four Seasons either.

Dear God no... Nothing local'ish to NYC? The Chicago airports have a few places that will do like mini personal deep dishes. They aren't anything amazing, but better than something like Sbarro.

Hi guys,

I'm a huge hockey-fan from Mannheim, Germany. I am currently in NYC with my family and I was wondering if there is something taking place this week in NY related to hockey. We just want to "breathe" some hockey and we would go almost anywhere. The NHL-store is just not enough... ;-)

Could you help us out? Is there an official training or maybe a charity game going on?

Thank you so much for your help. :-)

Ann
