I remember when he & Aldrin landed on the moon. I was 6 years old. My parents had gone to Cape Cod that weekend but told my grandmother I had permission to stay up and watch it [I was and remain a die hard spaceflight freak].

It was incredible watching those pictures live from the moon.

Godspeed Neil may you rest in peace.

With one small step for man he gave birth to that all time moronic cliche "they can send a man to the moon, but they can't figure out a way to blahblahblah".

RIP American Hero

just for bleeps and giggles here's Buzz Aldrin punching some conspiracy theorist nut who doesn't think we landed on the moon....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wcrkxOgzhU

Agreed, I`ll go one step further, REM began putting out garbage music after brilliance previously, and this song did me in for REM

An ode to Andy Kaufman however, the decline of one of my fav bands begun....well, not true...Out of Time put me in the hospital for relentless stomach pain for months

From what I gather it was one of those moments when everything in the world seemed to stop. "One small step" was translated into pretty much every language you can think of.

It's a nice reminder that people working together are capable of achieving things that are often thought to be impossible.

Toured Cape Kennedy two days before blast off. Saw the Saturn V steaming on the launch pad. Unforgettable.
