Lmao at anyone that would even consider this deal. If Fletcher actually proposed this Burke would piss himself laughing then fire Cliff for raising a stupid son.

I don't think it would be unreasonable to ask for another highly touted prospect in return for our 22 year old, all rookie team D-man.

Sure, Minnesota might not do it, but that doesn't mean that they aren't at least in the same realm or ballpark of value for Toronto to ask for him.

If Minnesota added Coyle, I would definitely say yes.

Granlund and Harding for Gardiner and Frattin

Gardiner's value is atleast equal to Granlund's and young goalies with starting potential usually go for 2nd round picks (see the bishop trade), and Frattin is certainly worth more than a second and he's going to be a beast top six player.

Some people won't like this. I think Granlund is one of the top prospects in the league for sure but he's small and his skating ability is average at best. It's a huge risk for Toronto seeing as Granlund has never played and NHL game.

Gardiner's trade value is not at least equal to Granlund's. All ones opinion, but i have a feeling 90% of hf would say that Granlund has a higher trade value than Gardiner.

If the Leafs were to deal Gardiner, I doubt it would be for Harding

I think if the Leafs really wanted Harding, they would've done something at the draft. I was surprised he resigned in Minnesota. Nice value though.

He's not "another" highly touted prospect. He's THE highly touted prospect. It'd be worse than asking for them to trade Parise or Suter.

If you want "another highly touted prospect", Coyle's a semireasonable name to ask about. Granlund is completely unreasonable to even consider asking about, no matter what the context.

I get that Gardiner did very well. But you're talking about a kid who's already a national hero with his face on postage stamps back home. That's a line you just can't cross.

If Falk was replaced with Coyle, I'd do this deal. I love Coyle, and a Harding/Reimer combo is pretty solid.

All-Star rookie linemate, led rookie dmen in scoring, for a guy that I had to google, and a young backup with flashes of starter potential ala Reimer? We'd have to add, but he is only going for Granlund/Coyle because we need a NHL-ready prospect/player coming back.

Harding is not a starting goaltender, he may have the potential to be one, but its too much of a gamble especially for a goalie whos never played more than 35 games a season for a player like Gardiner, for all we know Harding could turn out Toskala 2.0 posting decent numbers as back up in the west, given the work load of 60 games, he could easily crumble. The only way I see Gardiner being traded is in a package for proven goaltender/1C

There is just too much upside with Coyle to trade him.. He was rated our 2nd best prospect behind Granlund and was a first round pick. He dominated in the Quebec Major Junior League and was the most valuable player in the playoffs. He is also a big power forward at 6'2 207 which is what we need after losing Lattendresse

He is an animal, he dominated the NHL combines and doesnt have weakness in his skills, training allways like mad to get better.

He eats, sleeps and breathes hockey, you can call him Sir Charles.

So a Starting goalie... an NHL ready defenseman, and one of the Wild's top 2 prospects....
