Oscar Klefbom

Just wondering what kind of return he'd get. Not that I think it's a good idea for Edmonton to be trading their top D prospects but I think packaging him with other pieces might get a decent return.

Again, I just wanna know his value this time.

By himself? Not much. In a package....depends on the pieces. If its the usual pieces like Hemsky, probably not much either. At least on HF

Considering this guy is one of the best D prospects not in the NHL ( just below guys like hamilton, murray, smith, rielly, reinhart, schultz, same level as brodin) Id say he fetch a fair amount on his own. But if packaged with the right guy, could fetch a significant peice.

Klefbom is probably a top 20-25 prospect or close to and is just starting to develop, why would the Oilers deal him at all?
I'm sure that they would only deal him in a package for an established top pairing defenseman otherwise, there's no point in dealing him.

Why would a promising Defenseman already ahead one year in development be worth a late 1st or 2nd, when with that pick you're basically going to get the same thing but less ahead in development. Probably not even going to get someone as good with that late of a pick.

I'd rather Hamilton, Gormley, Smith, Hamilton over Klefbom. AINEC. Twice on Sundays. Rundblad is a toss-up. And Rielly wasn't a 4 game superstar, too bad you don't watch CHL games.

That's not too bad, but just saying I've seen some Oil fans value him corresponding to the Big 4.

Could probably package with a pick for an impact player.

What level of impact player? Because that really isn't enticing of a package to deal a impact player.

In all fairness what would Edmonton be looking for in a Klefbom trade?

Likely a solid top-4 d-man.

What does Klefbom project as?

Likely a solid top-4 d-man.

Depends on your expectations of 'enticing'. Klefbom is a top prospect. Can't see a low return for him right now unless he pulls an Erixon.

Responses like this show which posters use no logic in their thought processes.

Here is his non-bias value by others. He''l probably end up as a solid top 4 dman, but not much more..

Why post at all if you're that clueless about a player?

It's simply not worth moving him. He's worth about a top 4 dman, or a top 6 forward, but I'd much rather wait and see what he can become

He played 18 games and no leafs wanted him with the 5th pick in pre draft polls...

Klefbom was drafted 19th overall and value has skyrocketed.

if he was in this years draft Id have as the 3rd defense drafted, many scouts agree to.

Sad that since hes not a canadian d men everyone underrates him

Philly's first rounder. Why Philly? Because there aren't many top teams in need of a young dman.

But that's as good as it gets.

I'm curious what Klefbom did (or did not do) that has caused his value in some eyes to fall from his original draft position.

It's not because he is not Canadian. Do you see Chara/Malkin/Ovy underrated? No. Granlund either. Rielly had a very small chance, but still a chance, of contending for #1. Read back, and you see that. Leaf fans didn't want him because our biggest weakness was 1C, and there was a few of them top 5 contending. Your comment on 3rd of dmen, you have to love overrating.
