Yes to #1, No to #2. We are only moving Gardiner for a prospect at Granlund/Coyle. We may have to add, but still. Coyle+Clutterbuck+for Phaneuf? Dumba+Clutterbuck+ for Phaneuf?

There is no way Coyle, Dumba move anywhere, they fit perfectly to the future Wild.
Phillips might but i wouldnt move him, too much upside. He just needs 1-2yrs of getting stronger, nicely staggered as we have a spot for him by then.
Wild also dont have the space in the cap for Phaneuf, you can have Clutterbuck and Bouchard for Gardiner.

You're a funny guy.
Dumba is basically Phaneuf 2.0, and Leafs aren't contending now, and Rielly worked well with Dumba, so I put a feeler out. It's alright if you want to keep Coyle/Dumba/Granlund, and that means we will keep Gardiner.
When was the last time a player was traded less than a year after his rookie season? And a player who did as well as Gardiner? I can't think of any off the top of my head, can you?
Well I suppose if there is a too good to be true deal then a trade would have to be made. That being said, trading Gardiner for a number 6 or 7 dman and a backup goalie is not a trade that anyone with any understanding of the game of hockey would make. For Gardiner to be traded the Leafs would have to add, as he would only be traded to upgrade us at centre. I am not sure what we would add. The Leafs aren't in a position to trade Gardiner for a package of players and since he's only had one season I don't think we'd get much better at centre in a 1 for 1 trade.
As a Sens fan, it pains me to say this, but I don't think it's quite enough for Gardiner. It's a good base offer, though probably needs an extra piece.
It's not as bad as some Leafs fans are going to try to tell you it is, but it needs a little extra "oomph", IMO.
I like the sound of this.
I personally would want Coyle or Phillip if we are trading Gardiner to Minny. I know Granlund is a prospect we can't touch.

I wasnt serious, there just isnt any trade there for Gardiner. Clutterbuck is possible but i dont know what you have in your prospect pool. Komarov is good and can play the Wild system well, him and something else and i would deal.
Gardiner is far too overvalued in Toronto to make a deal like this. If he goes, it would only be in a package for a true star player.
Harding isn't one.
Realistically... there's only one player on Minnesota that Toronto would be willing to include Gardiner in a deal for is Mikko Koivu, packaging other guys together makes no sense for a team like Toronto who has a ton of depth at both the NHL and prospect level.

Toronto just signed Komarov from KHL, I don't think they can/will trade him this soon.
So a Starting goalie... an NHL ready defenseman, and one of the Wild's top 2 prospects....
riiiiiiiiiiiiiight
Harding is NOT a starting goalie, Reimer is better than him and we already have Scrivens as well. Falk would not even make our blueline so he's useless. So basically for a future star on the blueline you want to give nothing but ****.
I feel very strongly that this is a move y'all would regret.

Boom goes the dynamite. Both teams hate it.
Toronto (the vocal minority being targeted, that is) could actually probably be sold on it because of a perception that there's defensive depth there (yeah, I know). To get them to hate it, you'd have to make a try for someone like Kessel.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!

I wouldnt want Phaneuf or Kessel, character issues.
Minnesota and Toronto unfortunately aren't the best trading partners just at this point. Gardiner intrigues me, but Harding has been extremely loyal to the Wild and seems to love the organization. I'd rather see how this Wild lineup goes this year, if there even is any hockey this season. I believe there will be some action from the Wild side of things when the deadline comes, but not yet.
Decent proposals though, some overvaluation but hey, homergoggles are homergoggles. Everyone has a pair.
