Hey Jones, I'm gonna start a class action lawsuit against the Red Sox for the nuclear option trade. Why? They owe me a new pair of underwater and I'm suing for damages

The Red Sox are going to go from 173 million to 90 million with the trade, Youkilis, and Dice-k's free agency.

I think they are going to relocate the team. *Yes that was sarcasm*

We'll see how responsible they are with all of that weight off their shoulders. Do they spend responsibly, or go out and give Josh Hamilton a golden mansion filled with diamond sculptures and miniature giraffes to risk putting themselves in the same situation all over again?

The Red Sox only have 45.6 million committed to next year. The prospect pool could help fill the roster, but they won't go for Hamilton. Do you really want a guy with addiction issues in the town they call the hub of drinking?

They should resign Ortiz to a short term deal. Ellebury to a long term deal and then who the **** knows?

Signing Ellsbury would be a huge mistake. He's had injuries that have knocked him out for large portions of two of the last three years and he has exactly one good year offensively he can hang his hat on out of five.

bostpn should go after hamilton. they are good at 3B, SS, 2B, CF, and C with good young kids and pedroia and ellsbury. They need help at corner OF and 1B in the linup. Sands and Loney could be 2 of those three leaving a hole in RF. who plays RF and a FA? who has a ton of cash to spend? yep.

they sign hamilton, and add a couple of decent vets to go with lester and bucholtz they will be fine and resume finishing 2nd to NYY.

whats really mind boggling to think about is Hamilton and Votto should be teammates right now... (yes, i grew up with the Big Red Machine... and Votto, Hamilton, Bruce would be right up there with Bench, Perez, Foster)

Yeah, it's fun to think about. We got 1 great year out of Volquez. The Rangers won that deal for sure.

Cubs had him before that and in true Cubs fashion traded him to the Reds for $100,000. $50,000 for Hamilton himself and $50,000 to cover the cost of the Rule 5 selection.

I posted on facebook yesterday that the Dodgers were trading for the kid that hit the 3 home runs for Tennessee yesterday. It drew some laughs.

Going to post my fantasy team, tell me what you guys think. 10 team standard scoring add .5 per reception.

QB - Matthew Stafford, Detroit
RB - Ray Rice, Baltimore
RB - Jaamal Charles, Kansas City
WR - Andre Johnson, Houston
WR - Dez Bryant, Dallas
WR - Steve Johnson, Buffalo
FLEX - Ahmad Bradshaw, New York Giants
TE - Coby Fleener, Indianapolis
K - Matt Bryant, Atlanta
DEF - Jets

RB - Toby Gerhart, Minnesota
RB - BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Cincinatti
RB - Peyton Hillis, Kansas City
RB - Ben Tate, Houston
WR - Lance Moore, New Orleans
WR - Nate Washington, Tennessee

The name of my team is Dez-Mestic Violence.

Don't tempt them....

Note: Only 4 Sox went to Johnny Pesky's funeral: Salty, Padilla, Clay Buchholtz, Ortiz. Where as the rest went to a Bowling event for Beckett's charity that night.

I'm willing to bet that these guys are a lock for next year. And Ortiz and Padilla will be re-signed.

And that would be why I categorically refuse to watch Major League Baseball. I briefly tried again after the Indians' run a few years back (mostly 'cause of the switch to the Clippers as minor league affiliate), but the preemptive dumps of Sabathia and Lee ("because it was inevitable") had me turning right back around and walking away.

Would it be bad form to kill 'lets start the wave!' guy at the little league world series?

On paper it looks good, Ray Rice is money in the bank. Charles and Stafford could be great, but also come with serious injury concerns. Bradshaw has injury concerns too and he could lose his job to Wilson even if he stays healthy, but between Bradshaw and Green-Ellis you should have at least one decent flex player. Strong WR group and decent backups at WR too. Weak at tight end, but you can't be strong everywhere. Drafted my team yesterday, 10 teams, standard scoring, no ppr, no flex spot:

QB - Tom Brady - New England Patriots
RB - Darren McFadden - Oakland Raiders
RB - Doug Martin - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
WR - Brandon Marshall - Chicago Bears
WR - Mike Wallace - Pittsburgh Steelers
WR - Desean Jackson - Philadelphia Eagles
TE - Antonio Gates - San Diego Chargers
K - Stephen Gostkowski - New England Patriots
DEF - Philadelphia Eagles

Only if you do so on-the-spot and in public. Keep it private and let him just mysteriously vanish one day.
