Kane's agent says there is no truth to the rumors about asking for a trade. From the Winnipeg Sun:

Evander Kane still doesn’t have a new contract with the Winnipeg Jets, but contrary to some internet specultion, the dynamic left-winger hasn’t asked to be traded either.

As the rumour-mill swirled late Thursday night and Friday morning, the agent for Kane confirmed that there was nothing to the unsubstantiated reports.

“No truth to it,” Craig Oster of Newport Sports said in a text message on Friday afternoon.
