It's solid. Minnesota's defense isn't great but it isn't as bad people make it out to be. 13th in GAA...

Yeah, not sure where this "Wild D besides Suter sucks" is coming from besides the low-name recognition of there line-up.

Gilbert is a great 2nd pairing Dman.
Spurgeon, despite his size, is a impressive 20-year-old.
Scandella is a blue chip young Dmen who is figuring out the NHL game.
Brodin is a prospect, but he's one of the top Dman prospects in the league.
Stoner is a great physical guy to have in your bottom pairing.
Falk has a lot of upside.
Kampfer has proven that he can handle the NHL game.
Prosser is a servicable #7 Dman.

The only real issue is the lack of a true #2 Dman, but Scandella and Brodin will be challenging for that.

Prob'ly 'cause many of those guys are question marks.

(And I thought Spurgeon was going to be the most likely to play opposite Suter.)

So are people trying to acquire Kessel right now in the thread or no? I'd do Dumba+ for Gardiner as Dumba=Phaneuf 2.0, and then we can deal Phaneuf.

I don't disagree with most of you what said but there's no way Minnesota could get this sort of value out of Harding just after retaining his rights. He still has more to prove before becoming that good a bargaining chip.

Would have to say no, Harding's not bad but we're giving up one of our top assets for another unproven goaltender. No interest there.

I wouldn't mind a Gardiner+ for Granlund deal, not sure what Minny fans would say though

They have already said no to that, as "Granlund/Coyle fit the future Wild perfectly" so I guess we'll keep Gardiner.
