diaz is also a lock, weber might be in also...
while price is not a lock, at least technically, he just has to not suck until then to make it in.
subban has some serious competition if he wants to make it in. his impeccable pedigree in international tournament and his play on big ice might give him that nudge he needs but until the olympics, he needs to rock the league big time
Canada should make Luongo their starter, it would even the playing field between the different countries.

Price has represented Canada successfully in the past too, wining tournament MVP no less.
If Burke is in charge of the USA team again I doubt any player on the Canadiens makes the team. Gionta should have at least had an invite last time around, but Burke kept up with his typical ********.

The experiment of having the veteran goaltender on the team due to past tournaments rather than current talent did not work last time. Brodeur was a bust for Team Canada in 2010. Hopefully they learned their lesson. If Luongo plays better than he has in past seasons then he deserves his chance. If not, let Fleury/Ward/Price fight it out for top 2 spots.

Luongo won't be a starter, not even sure if he'll make the team. Since the olympics he struggled and was really inconsistent, and even in 2010 olympics he played just good, not great. Ward isn't elite, so he won't be the starter, and if last season playoffs round against flyers is a sign, fleury isn't that good when there's a lot of pressure. Right now Price is a lock for starter, but it could change (which I doubt).

I could probably come up with 2...possibly 3 squads of Canadian forwards before having Desharnais on team Canada discussion! Stop claiming Desharnais as even a long shot...he's a NO shot!
Gomez has more of a chance to make team USA....this is not a knock on Desharnais, its a reflection of the insane depth of canadian forwards....St. Louis was a (top 6) forward on Team Canada after an insane few seasons winning NHL's top awards. Desharnais has not achieved anything even close to St.Louis nor will he in the next 2 years without playing alongside a Lecavalier in his prime. St.Louis was a sure shot as a top 6 in 2010, Desharnais would not be able to achieve This, nor would he be useful on the bottom 6 forwards...So stop being a "Habs hopeful" and be realistic! you insult the Stamkos, Crosby, Nash, EStaal, Perry, Hall, Tavares, Eberle, Heatley, Seguin, etc etc etc etc...
