I was looking on stubhub, and they don't have the event listed at all. I was looking on ticketexchange, and any tickets they are offering are $85+. Stubhub has the preseason game at the Rock, Philly, and Montreal listed. Why would the Barclays game not be listed? Is there something I'm missing? Thanks!
Closer to gameday ticket prices will drop to under $20.

I'm with you. Preseason tickets still cost a pretty penny.

Chances are a good chunk of seats will fall to below $20 closer to gamenight.
We'll find out, possibly, if the game actually gets played.

Anyone else really want to know what they won already? Time to stop slacking Devils tell me what I won! I want to know just in case there is a lockout so I know what I am owed. lol

Edit: We knew already by this time last year.

A normal preseason game yes, but this is one of the first events in the Barclays Center, it's going to be overpriced just because of that. They don't even have the Nets opener before this game.

Maybe, but I still think at the end of the day, no one will care about a pre-season game (between the Isles and Devils, no less) and prices will fall. By way of recent comparison, the first pre-season games for the Jets and Giants at the new stadium had pretty low demand and SH got pretty cheap (tickets were almost all sold due to sths).

All moot, of course, since I think that there is little chance this game gets played on its scheduled date

Apples and oranges. All the seats for the football game were already sold to STHs and many were lazy then when push came to shove decided to get what they could before eating them.

Why would they tell you if they don't know if there's going to be a season? It's easier for them to say nothing, then have a bunch of people calling to complain.

I'm assuming that you don't get your prizes if there is a lockout.. How would I win a suite for a game if there aren't any games? I'll bet there is a work stoppage clause in our STH contracts

I mean, I would like to know what I won, but if the season starts in December or January I don't expect them to be able to provide all of the same prizes given the fewer games

Probably the lobby and maybe a restaurant.

Hopefully restaurants/retail. Great place to start some 'higher' scale stuff and hopefully start at least modernizing some of Broad Street. Would go a long way to helping Newark improve.

Based on the renderings of the hotel prior to it being built that was the plan - to put in food/retail places at the bottom which as CB said, will help improve the area more so

The website for it is already up and says it will be opening next month

Whaaaaaahhhhttttttt? High end retail.... are you cray-cray? And in terms of higher-end chain dining this area doesn't even support a Morton's, a Ruth's Chis, or a Don Shula yet despite all the businesses right there.

Look at my statement in relation to the rest of Newark.

A ****ing stand alone Starbucks and a Gap would be high class. I don't actually mean high end retail dude. I just mean some chains like the rest of the America.

I'm willing to bet that Newark is the biggest city in America without it's own Starbucks. That's BAT **** level crazy.

Gotcha, that's what I thought you meant, which would be insane. If Tiffany opened a Newark location a guard would have to stand at the door with a thermal detonator.

In all seriousness though, there isn't a stand-alone Starbucks in Newark! There's one in the Hilton/Penn Station and one in a Rutgers building IIRC.

Think about that for a second.

I would think some of why there isn't a SB in Newark is because I don't think they franchise, you have to qualify for a licence and its somewhere in the $300K plus range for the licence to run the store which would be owned by Starbucks, not you/your partners like it would be if one were to open a Sonic or other business that franchises

That being said, up until 2007, who would want to have spent $300K to open up a SB in Newark?

If I remember correctly, there used to be one a couple of blocks down Broad Street. I always used to pass it just before reading Edison. It was either at the corner of Market, or a street or two before that. I believe it went out within the last year or so though. Don't believe its still there.
