This sucks so much.

What do you guys/gals think about the length of the lockout? Do you think it will only be a couple weeks, half a season or even, God forbid, a full season?

Thankfully so many of us live in the State of Hockey. I'll just roadtrip it up to Madison and Grand Forks for college hockey and attend some high school games to keep busy but still... I want the Wild this season! My dad has tons of opportunity to get tickets via his work. This sucks.

Since I don't like winter, I'll be really bummed if there is a lockout. Hockey is the only thing that helps me get through it. Unless we have another winter like last year. That wasn't so bad.

Late January? Gimme a holla, I'll be probably there around late January as well. I have weekends off anyway.

I haven't even bothered to dry clean the jerseys yet. Why bother. And this is a task that takes a few months to complete. In order to afford it, it's 3-4 jerseys each month for 3-4 months. Usually takes up a good chunk of summer. But with the lockout coming, I'm starting this #$@! in September. Figure we won't see hockey till late December if we're lucky.

Is this the same Bettman who said that we recovered from the last lockout because the league has the greatest fans in the world? A significant step to Bettman probably means that he simply made it through a meeting without being chased by the big kids out into the parking lot and given a wedgie.

If we see a drop in the cap and no rollbacks; I think Cullen, Backstrom and Bouchard have put on their last Wild uniform last year.

That'd be a ridiculous drop in cap if there aren't any rollbacks.

i don't think a cap reduction with no rollbacks would be that appealing to a good chunk of the players. what about all the young guys a year or two from making bank?

bad proposal.

pretty much a non-starter for the NHLPA. The players absolutely HATE escrow.

plus, signing bonuses don't get escrow money taken out...

Still a ways to go. But this is probably just a bridge to get the players to accept rollbacks along with the cap lowering.

The kids freaking out about the $58m number are the ones who don't have much experience in negotiations in a business setting...

The Wild will likely have some slight maneuvering to do, but it's not like they're doomed or will need to make drastic moves.

Woah. What? I did not laugh to be disrespectful toward Neil Armstrong. At all.

I laughed because Bettman comes off as narcissistic and if there is no lockout (or it gets resolved quickly enough), I'm sure he'll bask in the decision like it came down to him being "flexible". Hence why it'd be funny that if he was pictured walking on the moon. Because he "made a significant step" by bridging the divide between the NHL and NHLPA.

Having said that, I realize Fehr is more of the media darling lately than Bettman. There are so many complexities concerning the CBA that I don't really have a side that I feel more pity for. But maybe that's because I'm part of the lower class dregs of humanity. Ha ha.

A full season at least. Bettman and Fehr will never come to an agreement.
