Could him and Kesler been able to play on the same team?
Don't see why not; if Burkie hadn't tried to lowball the guy, Kesler wouldn't made those foolish comments in the first place. They were friends before that.

uh, yeah. these dudes are professionals earning a lot of ******* money. as long as the team's doing well, im sure they could tolerate anybody and probably in bad years too

I doubt they were very friendly, if at all. You don't make the kind of comments Kesler did (IIRC the substance of the comments) about a friend of yours. There must have been some animosity there.
I will say that I doubt it would have been a big deal though.
Although I have to thank Felix Potvin for inspiring me to be a goalie. He was my dad's favorite player, so he became mine as well. I remember we met him and he signed my dad's rookie card of him. Seemed like a really nice guy, Helped that I had a Potvin jersey on that I bought the day of the game. They won 4-1 (November 28th, 2000) against the Anaheim Mighty Ducks that night if I remember correctly. But after that game was when I became a true fan of the Canucks and really started to follow them. And that was in 2000, I was 5 at the time.
And yes, Dan Cloutier did stay for a while, but he was still in that era. After Auld we got Luongo and that pretty much leads us to where we are today.

They were not friendly. Their feud started at OSU. Umberger said as much in the media, IIRC.

I always had him pegged as a moody player, boy did I have it wrong. He sounds pretty smart and positive about his experience here.
I still maintain that on a lesser team he would have stuck at the NHL level. He just had to get past the 'butterflies' stage.
Yeah, I'd like to see him come back and give it another shot. Playing for 2 years in the AHL seems to have really rounded out his game and made him that much more deadly in the KHL.
Alex Bolduc is off to a great start in the AHL. 11 points in 8 games. Hopefully his injury problems are behind him, as I think he can still become a good 4th line NHL centre.
Might be old news, and I'm sure everyone has speculated on the situation but just from the Reddit AMA earlier today with Mathieu Schneider, David Backes and Kevin Westgarth.

TOTALLY didn't you see my blog when I was with the Canucks. Short lived until Vigneault ran me out of town . My kids have taught me everything I know about Reddit. -MS

Let's just say...he made it into my top 10 least favorite coaches list (keep in mind, I played for 10 teams -MS

The offer sheet is part of hockey as a business. I like Vancouver and have some great memories there during the Olympics and regular season. That being said, I love playing for the Blues and St Louis has treated me like one of there own, I am proud to call it home. Tarasenko is a great talent and I cant wait to see how his game translates to the NHL, hopefully sooner than later. - DB
Also according to Westgarth, we are the most hated team in the league and Schneider says it's very hard to play vs. the Sedins. No real surprises there.
Never liked Schneider anyways. His comments just make him seem like a big baby. Also laughed at the Westgarth part. Tell us something we don't know already, you useless goon.
