Just letting you know, no biggie. I was also surprised comments like that didn't get a thread of its own as well. Part of the charm of this board I suppose. Like a box of chocolates, never know what you might get.

Thanks for sharing how the CZ media operates. Neuvy doesn't care if his teammates hear about it, or thinks they won't find out. Him telling Voky to go to Pitt is hilarious. Think he was worried Tivo would stay here with Dale gone?

Why not just have 1 thread. All Discussions Thread I. Its high time to live dangerous and exceed the archaic 1000 post limits. The internet will not crash, I assure you.

I don't find it charming. I find it ridiculous that if people start a new thread they get chewed out for it. Meanwhile if anyone wants to read about a specific topic they have to sift through one mega thread.

(Not saying you did that to this OP, I'm just saying it happens. I prefer threads for specific topics.)

I agree with you 100%. This bit was meant as sarcasm:

"Part of the charm of this board I suppose. Like a box of chocolates, never know what you might get."

Just a friendly heads up so the OP doesn't get raged on by the "Tenured" members of this board.

In THE thread some imply the translation was likely spot on.

I guess that means he lied to Mike "Rob Ramage Damage Control" Vogel

Seems like typical predictable media spin. It seemed so outrageous it instantly set off my BSometer.

I am sure not every work in the Czech language translates 100% to english, and visa versa. But hey why let potential drama go to waste?

Thanks for lookin out, but check my join date...theres very few people on here that I wouldn't laugh at for givin me grief on board etiquette. Just because I mostly lurk doesn't mean I'm not here.

...and the lumping EVERYTHING into one thread thing really does make it a PITA, unless you want to read every little thing every person has to say about everything.

I won't

Putting all discussions in fewer threads while an attempt to make things "better" in some way, end up making things more complicated. Regulars gun shy to start a thread knowing it will probably get moved or ignored because its half discussed somewhere. Mods in doing so end making more work for themselves by having to move almost all new threads, and it takes the ignore thread feature away from end users.

Neuvy's comments 1st discussed in the acq thread, then inevitably someone knowing roster moves are nil now doesn't read that thread. Starts a hot topic Neuvy thread, and then mods ponder digging out all those Neuvy comments, or merging a valid new thread into an unrelated thread. Again extra work so why bother and discussions happen in 2 threads, even though one would think fewer threads would prevent that. So it fails.

/end annual less threads is better rant

I like individual threads too. Maybe after they've run their course Mods can consolidate, but it makes it less likely to generate conversation if it's buried in a massive thread.

Yea, this team forum is essentially one of the very few that do it and it's sort of mind bottling.

Oh, a capitals fourth liner had a quote in the newspaper? Sounds like it's better suited for the "Team Building/Roster Thread"

We traded Backstrom for Sebastian Centomo and Joel Prpic? Move to "News around the NHL"

That's why I didn't see it. I had no interest in acq/roster building so I missed it (thought it weird nobody brought it up). Kinda stupid, but I guess if I wanna see whats up I'll have to check the roster building thread too.....yeah, that makes sense.

And, as typically happens, a perfectly valid observation is soiled by compulsive hyperbole.

Want to start a thread? Be my guest, particularly if it's newsworthy. There's plenty of mega-merge worthy threads still standing on the first page if mods really wanted to have at it. Maybe it's not a matter of being over-moderated but an under-active forum. It's not hard to figure out why that may be between team performance and a rise in annoying posters.

How about we, as a community, work together to make this board as friendly as possible for worth while debate? Its possible. Just need to put in a bit of effort.
