actual cap is 70.2M I think

70.2/58=1.21

21% salary roll back

Gomez new cap hit would be about 6.1M

Yep, just like what happened after the last lock-out. This isn't anything new.

Except this time, it will be a lot easier to come up with the rollback numbers, since there's a cap already in place unlike last time.

The negative:
Very very depressing, boring without our Habs and NHL!! And what's worse is...players, owners, Bettman...none of them give a **** about us fans that pay their salaries. Whether I have a life or no life...good job or crappy job, girlfriend or no girlfriend...I can't take these lockouts!! So depressing (and going to a bar/pub on a Saturday night is not the same without our Habs on tv). I start hating the owners, players, GMs...all of them!! (fans pay all their salaries and they don't give a **** about us fans). I don't want to hate...I just want to watch our Habs!! and have a full NHL season!!
Do we really have to do this every 5 years?? What the **** (greedy ***-*****...all of them).

The positive:
<I'm hoping for hockey in December '12 or January '13.
<AHL and Junior Leagues...we can follow the development of Galchenyuk, Beaulieu, Tinordi, Ellis, Thrower, Collberg, Bozon, Dietz, Kristo, Schultz, and maybe Leblanc will spend time with the Bulldogs to dominate? (put a tough guy on his line to protect him...an injury in the AHL is not what we need!). Heck...Weber could use another year in the AHL!! I just hope RDS, TSN (and maybe CBC?) will show many Bulldog games and OHL, CHL, and QMJHL games...
<We'll always have...the WJC tournament!!

And, would anyone remember...? The last two lockouts...was the last one half a season? and the one before that...half or no season at all? (thanks in advance).

Getting to sleep before 3am will be a nice change I guess, will have to play unholy amounts of NHL13 to get over the loss though.

Still get to see hockey over here regularly so not all is lost.

Mooseheads season tickets. I just won't spend the money I was going to on the trip to Montreal to see the Habs and get NHL13, beer and a few 5 sacks.

Pretty much the exact same thing. I will also add the Boston Celtics, Arsenal and the Chicago Bears to that list.

I will also be playing a lot of soccer and starting a new band as soon as possible. That + the gf should keep me pretty occupied.

Are you all telling me you guys are not getting some while hockey is on and have to wait for a lockout to get any?

Not much different with or without a season, for me. I'll go to BSens games, since the AHL will be playing. My wife is due, with our first kid, any day now so I'm assuming that will take a lot of my time that I used to waste watching hockey.

Probably the only big difference is that instead of heading to Montreal for 3-4 games we'll go on a nicer vacation this spring break. Even if the season resumes in early 2013 I'm debating on whether or not to head up for a game or two.

It wouldn't change much of anything for me because I have never been this unexcited by a NHL season. Maybe it's because I've refused to look forward to it because of the pending lockout, but my enthusiasm level for NHL hockey right now is pretty much at zero. NFL+CFL+end of season in MLB will get my sports attention.

Maybe it's because I hated pretty much everything MT did the first time around and I still can't believe he's back.

Maybe it's because I see this season as a boring ''place holder'' season while several key pieces of the future develop elsewhere.

Maybe last year's garbage and never ending soap opera has permanently scarred me and I need a break that is longer than one summer.

Probably all of the above.

I am way more interested in the Sting season, Bulldogs season and following 2013 draft prospects right now than the NHL.

I'll probably follow the Sarnia Sting. Also a huge NFL fan, as well a fan of the Raptors.

Will still find ways to be incredibly unproductive.

I'll probably just play more hockey - on the (very tiny) plus side Johnny's should have more icetime available with the Hawks not practicing.

I'll probably have to suck up the huge payment and buy the AHL package for the Bulldogs. Get to see Bournival, Leblanc, and company develop.

Anyone know where to order just the Bulldog games for a set fee? Not crazy about paying $600 for every team, lol.

On the AHL thread, I think they were discussing about splitting the costs of "AHL Center Ice" to make it like 10$ per person and have everyone shareit
