Minor Deal.... Habs - Flyers

Yannick Weber
Brenden Nash

Marc Andre Bourdon
Ben Holmstrom

Montreal could use a dman like Bourdon got a bit of size, but big weight and can move the bodies out of the front of the net. Montreal doesn't have enough of these guys.

Philadelphia could use a dman like Weber. They have a rugged defense with some offensive flare. If they added a guy like Weber with a big shot from the point it would be key for the PP.

Can't see MAB ever cracking the Habs D-corps with Tinordi/Beaulieu and Ellis knocking on the door and with Markov/Emelin/Subban/Gorges/Bouillon/Diaz/Kaberle on the roster. MAB might help Hamilton though.

Bouillon and Kaberle will most likely not be with the habs after this season. Neither of Diaz or Emelin has a guaranteed spot. Bourdon would have space to prove whatever he needs to prove.

That said not sure why the Flyers would do this.

Emelin just signed a 2 year contract (2million/year). That's as guaranteed as it gets. And after Bou and Kabs are gone we have Tinordi/Ellis and Beaulieu replacing them (and/or a UFA). MAB doesn't have a chance of cracking the line-up as he doesn't have the talent level to unseat any of Tinordi/Ellis/Beaulieu. We would need to have an injury riddled blueline (ie. 4 of the 7 down with injuries) for MAB to see any icetime on the Habs.

Have you not watched the habs the past 3 seasons? It's more likely to happen than not at this point.

Don't see the point of ditching Weber like that for no particular reason.

I don't see why he would not have guaranteed ice time he's our 4th best dman... even if it sounds bad.

He most likely will have his ice time, but it's pretty far from guaranteed. Here's a comparison: Him starting to suck = press box. Markov or Gorges starting to suck = still on the ice.

Switch Holmstrom for Wellwood Then it's a deal IMO.Erik is a real energy plug the jabs could use on the fourth line.
