I'm looking to build up my NHL sweater collection which is really only at 5 right now. As everyone here should know it's a fairly expensive hobby, so I was thinking it would be a good idea to set up a little network of sweater deals around the Ottawa area.
I'm open to any team/league and the more money off the better (of course ).
I'll start off with one I picked up today; the Sportchek at the St. Laurent Mall has 2 racks (around 20 sweaters) of the old Oilers home priced down from the usual $135 to $29.99. I just couldn't say no to that.
I wouldn't buy the old Oilers home for $30, and I'm an Oilers fan.
That said the best bargain buy I've had was an XL replica of our old white jersey at the Sportchek in Place D'Orleans. It was priced at $125 and was the last in stock (hence I was stuck with an XL), went to pay at the register, and they told me the total was... $25. I felt like the lady in the IKEA commercials.

I remember Houle Sport is where I bought my Home jersey for 65$
Ah, memories...
I got my first Sens' sweater there as well, a red 1997 model with Janne Laukannen on it, and used to go nearly every Saturday as a kid to get my skates sharpened from the week's exertions. Also bought my first bike and pair of Rollerblades there.
Luc was a great guy, and it's really too bad the store shut down, they had a great selection of wooden sticks even after everyone started switching to composite. Pro Hockey Life isn't the same by any stretch of the imagination.

Got an away version for $19.99 at the same sportschek. Argued the manager down because we both know they ain't selling in a hurry.
Give it a few weeks and I'm confident you could go back and get them for $10.

I'll for sure try. I'm wearing my ex-home and loving it so far.
If anyone's looking to get into jersey collecting, I can't stress how much of an opportunity the upcoming lockout might be.
I mean, clearly I don;t want a lockout. But if there IS one, there are going to be TONS of fans who sell off their jerseys. I bought like 30-40 jerseys in 2005, during the "lost season" lockout, used, from guys who swore that they'd "never support the NHL ever again!", even in like November, when the lockout was only a month old.

Good advice.
But you have any 90's era jerseys left you're willing to give up? Those are the ones I'm really after.

Interesting... Cheap jersey are always good...
Let me know if you hear of somebody who is selling off their orange Flyers jersey.

Haha, where were you when I had an entire thread dedicated to selling off a large % of my jersey collection?? I have like 3 orange Flyers jerseys sitting in storage at my mother's house right now.
Though I did just have a thought: I now live in Indonesia (for the next 3 years). Reebok replica jerseys are MADE in Indonesia.

What?
I guess I should have asked... The list you put in that thread only had the old orange third with the weird 3-D silver logo, and some black and white ones.

Really? Must have been an omission on my part. Damn.
First world problems: have so many jerseys, you start to forget what's in the collection.
