I thought of this too. Obama's ****** ama was essentially self-censoring. I'm sure it's nothing nefarious, but I'm equally sure that someone will spin it into a conspiracy theory somehow.

Impressive. You've got a tough wife there. Sucks that her ankle is broken, hope she didn't make it worse with the delay in getting it looked at.

Oh, I agree, I'm entirely convinced that we'll eventually default on our mountain of debt, and that's when the whole house of cards will come tumbling down.

We haven't consistently run a budget surplus in years, our trade deficit is massive and widening, and we went from being the world's largest creditor to being the deadbeat debtor that everybody is too scared to collect from.

China owns everything now, and we buy everything they make with money we borrowed from them and don't really have. What a convoluted mess. Thankfully a war between the two countries is almost impossible because it would immediately sink both economies, and the world economy with them, and nobody wants that.

That sucks to hear. Sounds a lot like what I did when I broke my ankle. Did it playing basketball shortly after school ended, probably like 4ish PM (I was 16 at the time). Limped off to the side after a minute or two, sat around, and hobbled through the school to my mom's car maybe an hour later. Hobbled through the house, sat on a couch, and sat at home for an hour or two. After that I finally decided I should probably go to a hospital. Whenever they offered a wheelchair or anything I turned them down and said I was fine. Hobbled through the waiting room area to sign in, then to whatever room they put me in, then probably to one other spot as well. The hospital told me it wasn't broken but gave me crutches and a brace anyway. The orthopedist I went to 2 days later told me it was clearly broken and gave me a much more durable brace (no hard cast though which was nice). They told me that I didn't do myself any favors by walking around on it as much as I did, but it didn't necessarily make anything worse. At least not in terms of the healing/recovery process. The main issue is that I just made it hurt a lot worse for myself. Odds are her situation is the same. She probably just dealt with more pain than she had to, but didn't do any additional damage. Everyone heals differently, especially at different ages, but I'm sure she'll start getting "mobile" in some capacity in a few weeks. Probably out of impatience for not being able to move like it was for me

I remember having an argument with a professor in London in 2003, who was lecturing the the Euro would mean that there would never again be a major land war in Europe, and further that those Union'ed nations will grow together in peace, with a linked economy meaning they'll all forever work "Together", because to not do so would sink all their economies. Point is, never say never, because the Euro aint looking so good, and its been less than a decade.

Sorry it took so long for me to reply. I usually am only on here during working hours.

You may find this interesting:

Under the Truth in Lending Act, the cost of payday loans - like other types of credit - must be disclosed. Among other information, a consumer must receive, in writing, the finance charge (a dollar amount) and the annual percentage rate or APR (the cost of credit on a yearly basis). Finance charges can range from $15 to $30 per $100 borrowed. This may not seem like a lot of money until you look at the APR for the loan. A credit industry survey found the average APR for a payday loan to be 300 percent. A recent report for the Missouri Department of Finance found the average rate in that state to be 408 percent!

Of course, Money Mutual won't tell you what their interest rates are until after you fill out an application. I would guess that like most places I have seen, it is at least in the 99% APR range.

I thought the Fed was our biggest creditor? In either rate, I know in past years it basically flip-flopped between them and China.

It's what's on TV - which is the most widespread mind control device in use currently. They gave up on drugging the tap water thanks to the bottled water craze the last 10 years.

I love this time of year - football starting up, normally hockey right around the corner and the weather is warm and dry afternoons with chilly nights. No air conditioning needed, just open the windows and let the cool air roll in and then pull up the blankets. I sleep so good with it cold like that and don't want to get up.

shorts and sweatshirt weather is far too rare around here.

Time to go for a run, shower, head to my in laws football scrimmage, go to the doctor at halftime, return around the 4th quarter, go home.

All by 1230-1. Then perhaps work until the Newcastle match at 3
