You generally keep guys from various positions for ST duty
Traditionally you carrry 3 RB's
STarter , Primary backup and ST/3rd string RB
Forte , Peterson , Wolfe or Forte/Taylor/Bell or etc for example. And then you sign a RB on practice squad in case of injury
You dont keep a guy like Allen who offers no ST ability when you have a guy like Booker who can handle both #3 RB and ST duty
I understand that you usually carry 3 running backs but you don't have to. If you think Allen is better on special teams than Sanzenbacher, you keep him. Allen has been playing on special teams this preseason.

You dont have to but I am merely saying that keeping 4 RB's is rather unheard of
Problem for Allen even if he is outplaying Sanzenbacher on ST ,, The roster is more likely to use the #5/6 WR then the #3 RB
Injuries to WR's pile up at greater rate then RB's and 5 receiver sets will still occur at times
Good that Sanz will make the roster. He's up for a good year when given the chance. Guy wasn't bad as a rookie without any kind of offseason playing under Martz system he had to learn without any practice to begin with.
Guys like Sanz or Shea are keepers. They are just ball players that have good instincts

He was bad as a rookie. Couldn't hold on to the ball, couldn't get open.

based off of 1 half of preseason football for shea and 1 season of being a 4th/5th wr who dropped every 4th pass for dane? wow.
To all those Bears fans (such as myself) that were a little disappointed when we didn't try to resign Amobi Okoye, here's why the Bears didn't. As usual, they were privy to information fans don't have. Looks like they made the right call:
Bucs DT Amobi Okoye's knee has continued to be a problem throughout training camp despite his June scope. "It’s not just one surgery," said coach Greg Schiano. "He has a history with that knee." Okoye has missed the Bucs' last two preseason games and practiced sparingly. Tampa Bay's interior defensive line is going to be a major weakness again this year. They'll be a running game to target in fantasy matchups.

Well, I'll say this about Sanz. I don't have any particular love for him. I remember him dropping some easy 3rd down catches last season. But I also remember him making a few great Touchdown grabs. And the bottom line for me is, Cutler seems to really like him. So for now, that's all I need to hear. If he craps the bed this season, I'm sure he will be shown the door. And even if he does, as a #4/#5 wideout, I don't see him being a huge liability, even over someone else whose roster spot he could be taking.

Considering we traded for the Bucs DT with major hamstring issue I would say Okoye's knee wasn't the most important thing
The Bears like Paea alot and Okoye was eating into his playingt time and role if he was brought back

Yes but Price is for less money. Aside from the first couple weeks, he has looked a lot better. May be just a solid, cheap, depth signing, but that's OK.
that's just an indictment of how ****** the bears were at the position, not a praise of dane. Dude dropped like 1 out of 4 passes thrown to him. That's bad. That's really bad.
