It makes my brain hurt to think that Dupuis was on the 4th line when we won the cup & is one injury away from being on the first.

At this point we have to sit back & hope Tangradi or BB has a break out year or else TK will be getting a lot of time with Sid.

Tangradi might never become a good top 6 guy either, but as long as the chance is there I think we should see what we can get out of him. If we put TK in that spot in February because Tangradi just isn't cutting it, I think he'll be just as good then as he would be if he played in that spot all season.

At the same time, TK is a better fit on our 3rd line. He can create his own offense better than Tangradi. He's a faster skater. And he has years of experience playing on a defensive NHL line. Tangradi would probably just be a bad fit on that third line. I think Jeffrey would be better there than Tangradi actually.
Excellent points, IMO. You also said you felt that ET on Crosby's or Malkin's line this year would be about 40 even-strength points. I agree with you there, too...I had been thinking something around 15G/25A for him were he to secure a spot on one of the top two lines...most of that coming in the second half of the year, and the vast majority at even strength. And 15/25 e/s seems respectable for me, for his first year there...

You make, IMO, excellent points, Ogrezilla. I find myself agreeing, or being persuaded to agree, with much of what you have to say most times...

Our 2nd line had Talbot and Fedetenko as wingers. Wasn't exactly an embarrassment of riches on the wings.

What are the chances of Tangradi sticking with the big club all year?

I have zero issues with a top line of Kunitz-Crosby-Dupuis. Zero. Crosby has shown he can tear the league apart on that line and Dupuis proved last year that it didn't matter what line he was put on, the man can produce. 17-game point streak. You don't get lucky 17 games in a row.

I'm not looking forward to next summer when posters on here want to let Dupuis walk.

probably not. I think he'll be an acceptable complimentary guy in the top 6. I see his absolute peak around Kunitz levels.

Well I'm the 12th round (20 team league) looking for a sleeper left winger. Kind of running out of options here. All comparable players are gone (Jordan Caron, Zack Kassian, Joe Colborne) and this guy could get some time the best player in the world.

Why shouldn't I pick him?

ok that's a very deep league. I'm thinking he can be a 35-40 point guy this year if he sticks with Sid or Geno. I don't think he'll see much powerplay time this year though. If he earns his way onto the powerplay I can see him settling in as a guy who gets in the 50's.

You should flip Kennedy and Dupuis. Kennedy has not boded well on his off wing.

no, he should swap Kennedy and Tangradi. Kennedy has not boded well in the top 6. Tangradi isn't going to fit a defense first line.

and now we go in circles for days

Where does Martin fit on our D? I don't remember seeing it because I missed a part of the season, but didn't Pauly play his "best" with Letang?

Letang - Martin
Orpik - Niskanen
Engo - SAI-MOAN D'-PRAY

I think Orpik is going to slowly drift away from first pairing ice time starting this season
