Beaking is part of hockey (all sports, really). Don't be boring.

I get why people do it.. I just personally don't partake in trying to be "clever" in front of my friends. If I do say something it's "You suck, bro." Or "Go F yourself."

Shouldn't have to try to be clever. You're either funny or you're Phil Kessel (no personality).

My favourite chirp is easily the lamest chirp I've heard but I laugh anytime someone says it.

"I used to have that bucket, then my dad got a job". This chirp can be used towards anyone on the ice as long as they don't have the same bucket as you. It's not even funny but I still laugh and used to use it all the time. Most of the times the guys just stare blankly at you.

What about people that have personalities but aren't "joke tellers"? I more have a problem with the hockey "lingo" then the act of talking **** to your friends. Obviously everyone does that (myself included) but using words like "chirp" or "beak" or what's that one... "yeahh buddy" that a lot of kids seem to be using around here.. it just makes me cringe lol.

Certain sports have always had their own lingo. Hockey is no exception.

One time I was at a tourney in peewee 2 years ago and we had a delayed penalty. Once the whistle blew and our my teammate was heading to the box my friend went up to one of our opponents and said "You have a small taliwacker!" The other kid punched him the face and got 2 for roughing.

I'm not gay.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
I fell onto a goalie once and he looked up at me and said, "you should of brought me a ring first"
I'm not good enough to chirp. But watch out once I am cuz I'll be using this entire thread.

just throw together some swear words and tell them they suck, and voila.

Do you chase the guy around the ice so you can finish that one?

I'm the only guy I've seen in my entire league who still plays with an aluminum stick. I'd expect someone to throw something like that at me, but I get more people complimenting it than I can remember
