Inline Skate Help

Hey everyone,

I play a ton of roller hockey during the winter. I'm skating almost every day for at least an hour. I'm in desperate need of new skates. The ones I have are completely torn apart, and a size too small.

I need size 14, and nothing crazy expensive. Problem is, I can't find any retailers who carry size 14. Does anyone here know some other places that might carry skates?

Is 14 your shoe size or skate size?

Shoe. I know I should be able to fit a size lower in skates, but my size 13's don't fit at all.

What brand are those skates? A lot of skates run larger than others, for instance I wear a size 12 shoe but a size 10 RBK skate.

Where does the skate not fit? Are the tips of your toes scrunched? Is it too narrow on the sides? Not tall enough on top?

It could be how it fits and not necessarily the skate size. Every line of skate from every different brand fits differently.

Mission skates. Mainly I have problems getting my foot in and out of the boot. Should I just try a different brand?

Do you really undo the laces so you can open up the tongue? If you do and the boot is still hard to get on it might not be wide enough. Are there any pressure points when you have it laced up?

Another important question is how old are the Missions. They used to be based on US shoe sizes until Bauer purchased them. A 13 in a Mission up until around 2010 is about a 11.5.
