Trade suggestion - Subban + ? for McDonagh + ?

In this trade suggestion, I think the Rangers get the better player but with McDonagh, we get a more steady big minutes defenseman.

My scenarios are:

1) a one-for-one trade or

2) the two principal players along with other possibilities (ie: Subban + Webber + a 2nd round draft pick for McDonagh + Del Zotto or Staal. Staal because he's not become what he could have been.

Likely this'll be razzed but, nevertheless, I like it.

Why would the Rangers trade two top 4 defenseman for one?

Subban is the better player and he has a much higher upside.

This. Plus we need a PP QB for
The future, I don't see McD getting more than 20 points too often.

Ideal world we'd still have both, but at this point I keep Subban, if I'm MB.

Well, McDonagh is a first pairing player, as is Staal. MDZ is a second pairing #3 type. No matter the combination, the Rangers' D comes out with less depth and it gets worse. I'm not gonna argue McDonagh/Subban on the Habs board, but it just doesn't make sense. The Rangers' D already lacks depth. This kills it effectively.

I'm not so sure about that

Subban may be flashier and slightly better offensively but McDonagh is better in his zone. It's actually pretty close but if you forced me to choose which is better right now id give a slight edge to McDonagh.
