I'm actually the source.

I posted it on a whim once back in his Columbus Blue Jacket days and have basically kept it a rollin'.

Lynk started this in our GDT's years ago. Instantly stuck. I'm sure he has some links bookmarked

#NHLJets Def Zach Bogosian wrist surgery will keep him out minimum three months, likely more, according to team spokesperson..
A mod should add that to the thread title.

3 months!

Thank god for the possible lockout. Hopefully we miss a few months and start a shortened season with a healthy Bogo!

I would take a lineupless Zach over no hockey, but that's just me.

same.

honestly, though i want to the team to win, i'll take 2.5 months of us playing subpar without zack, causing us to miss the playoffs, then a season 2.5 months shorter, with a better record.

Twitter is saying 4-6 months now, which is a cryin' shame. IF the season starts on time (I know...I know), that'll be very sad.

Ed Tait on H+L just said 3 months minimum, likely longer. We will get an update from the team tomorrow after the surgery.

Well, this sucks. I'd rather have a fully healthy Zach than have this go undiagnosed until partway through the season.

3 months = 20 games through the end of November. Will give Posta and Meech a great chance to show they belong.

It sucks losing Bogo, but better to be diagnosed now then at some point during the season. The wrist has obviously been bothering him over the last couple years. Imagine what a totally heathy Bogo will bring after he gets back. The guy is a fitness junkie, this has to bode well for a quick recovery.

Sounds like he could of had this surgery at any point; if he is timing this up with a potential lock out/strike, that could bode well for him as he wouldn't miss a game while healing an injury that appears to be chronic. If that's the case, smart move.

That doesn't make sense, though. Why wait until now to have the surgery if he knew about it before? Regardless of fitness training in the off-season, no player wants to miss games.

Reading the reports, it seems like it went undiagnosed for the last few years - very difficult if not impossible to find on xrays/ultrasounds, and it was exposed due to his off-season training (hunting too many turkeys, perhaps? )

Here's to a quick recovery!

This sucks. But, it's better for Bogo, and for the team in the long run to get this fixed once and for all.

Someone will have to step up....

Sucks...
Yea TC I had a bad first reaction but you nailed it. Very easy to aggravate an injury with the aggressive offseason programs these guys have. better now than three months from now and I will hope for a speedy AND COMPLETE recovery for our boy Zachy Goj. on the bright side this thing has been dogging him for years so imagine what a healthy Bogo might be able to do.

can we catch a freakin break with our too 4 D men????

Eat a pigs head of course

Damn! Zach is easily my favorite player. I really thought he was going to come out of the gate strong.

Honestly, I am hoping for a lockout til Christmas now.

Anyone think that he decided to get it done now because the PA is telling players that a lockout is pretty much a done deal?

Honestly with the rate they are going, they are not going to get close enough to play in 2 weeks. Then when the lockout is announced there will be more game playing by both sides.

A lockout is the best thing that could happen to a Bogosian less Jets team.

I say, good he's getting it fixed. Looks like he'll have time to heal, and then come back one tough SOB to play against!

I might be in the minority, but a lockout may benefit our team, now and in the future, if the right deal is struck. Let Bogo heal up to 100%, let Scheifele dominate the OHL without the scrutiny of 'should he stay, should he be sent down', and let our young emerging players get some more seasoning in Europe or AHL.

If it means missing 2, 4 or 12 months - i'm actually okay with that. For me, a lower % of HRR and significant revenue sharing is the aim. If that takes some time, sobeit.
