Top 25 Canucks Highlights - #3

The list:

1. Alex Burrows eliminates the Blackhawks - 50.91%
2. Pavel Bure OT goal, game 7, Calgary - 40.98%

Added Kirk McLean's 52 save game 1 & Bure's pass-to-himself-off-skate goal.

Removed the Adams OT goal in game 1 because it's contained in the McLean 52-save highlight video.

Vote to add another.

I'd like to nominate Burrows Game 2 winner against the Bruins 12 seconds in to OT. At the time, it looked like we were destined to win the cup

Seems like it should AT LEAST be on the list. Probably a top 15moment.

I went with Kirk McLean's save in 1994 Game 7... without that save, the whole 1994 run never happens.

I suggest adding Luongo's first playoff game where he saved 72 of 76 shots... you have Henrik's goal in that game for the poll, however I think that goal was more of a relief, really - however Luongo was at the top of his game despite a relatively weak 4th goal:

Funny...I've observed that and commented on that before. Much a faster skater and better lateral movement.

Anyways, I'm not sure how the McLean lost last time. Nothing in the 1994 run happens if he doesn't make that save. Bure doesn't get a chance to score and Linden wouldn't get a chance to play on crutches. It's probably the biggest save in Canucks lore.

Sorry but the vast, vast majority of these shots are absolute crap. Zero chance on any goalie.

I used to think this was an amazing feat but after watching this video I realize how bad the shots were all game.

He'll play on crutches, AINEC. The McLean save was great, but the call for Linden was number 1 in my mind (coupled with his game 7 performance....the last person to score for our team in game 7 of the SCF).

Also the only player to score for our team in game 7 of the SCF.

Those groin injuries really hampered his quickness.

He could move so fast for a big man.

I voted for Daniel Sedin's goal not because it was a significant moment in the history of the Canucks but on the highlight side, a once in a lifetime spectacle of skill.

I'm guessing the injury was the problem. He was much much faster and looked more confident in net.

Instead of being a box score scout you should look at the actual saves he's making. I'd say there was maybe 8 or 9 actual scoring chances in all of those. I wouldn't be surprised if 55-60 of those were routine glove, blocker, pad saves that were from 50-60 feet out.

He hasn't had the same mobility since this:

I will be voting for Burrows's Game 2 OT goal right away if it becomes available. The feeling when that goal happened was second only to the Game 7 OT winners in my mind.

And the way the goal happened with Burrows beating Chara and making Thomas look like a fool felt like sweet vindication as well.
