looking to deal for a starting goaltender
and #2 center with upside
Trading Block: Anybody
Uh, if I were you, I'd definitely hold on to Huby, Kulikov, Markstrom (unless if you're getting quite a lot back), and Gudbranson. And another tip: you'll probably want Ellerby on the block, and I would assume that Detroit would easily be the best spot for him, seeing as he's a big, physical D man with still a lot of upside. I'm not too sure what Detroit would be willing to part with, but I'd recommend that Ellerby only be included in a packaged deal, seeing as you don't exactly want to throw away a perfectly good prospect (of which you have an abundance of) for spare parts.
True enough. There's also the question of who will bring the better return and whether or not in 5/6 years you believe Eddie Lack could take over and be a very good starter himself.
Given his ratings in NHL 12, it just doesn't seem like it's worth it. I'd take the same route as we did with Luongo/Schneider. Keep Cory as the backup until he reaches his prime and then make him the starter, Cory will be 34 or 35 by the time Lack reaches his potential.
