The habs are lacking a top 6 winger. We've seen with injuries that this can become a very big issue. Bourque can be a top 6 guy but you can't rely on him to deliver... plus he's injured for now.
The defense remains a big issue. Can Subban finally provide full season consistency and step into a legit #1 role? Can markov's knee hold up and what does he have left to offer? Is Emelin capable of taking the next step in his developmental curve or has he plateaued? Can the bottom pairing survive without hurting the team?
Too many question marks. I will say that it will be more fun to watch the team because they should stand up for one another with the characters they have added in bouillon, armstrong, and prust..... but in terms of results, I'm still pessimistic that this team can find itself on the right side of the playoff bubble.
I hate that their might be a lockout but everyday that I must endure without my Habs I will be well consoled by that fact Gomez won't be getting paid. Each day closer to the end of that contract with my Habs gives my heart a lift from it's agony.
