Hey guys, we are one team short for our new keeper league on NFL.com in the Canucks forum. Anyone interested? The draft would be @ 7:30 PM your time on Friday night.

Is this a joke?

Not everyone can afford to pay $200 on an NFL jersey. Maybe you're the one with the stable job, but not me. I work part-time and I still have student debt to pay off in addition,I have bills to pay and food to put on the table.

Tell that to all the die hard sports fans that can't afford to buy tickets to watch their favourite team play.

They didn't have Thursday night games every week last year, did they?

Here are my predictions for the 2012 NFL season:

Division leaders:

AFC East - New England
AFC North - Baltimore
AFC South - Houston
AFC West - Denver
AFC Wildcards - Pittsburgh, Buffalo
NFC East - NY Giants
NFC North - Detroit (yup that's right!)
NFC South - Atlanta
NFC West - San Francisco
NFC Wildcard - Green Bay, Carolina

My Seahawks will miss the playoffs with a 9-7 record.

Super Bowl XLVII = Baltimore over Detroit

First time I've had much optimism for a Panthers season in a few years. If Newton doesn't have a sophomore jinx and the defense can stay healthy I think Carolina can battle for a playoff spot.

Defense staying healthy is the biggest thing. Beason missing almost all of last year was a crippling blow. The secondary is still a concern though.

I think the NFC is definitely the superior conference now, after the AFC was dominant for a long time. I see almost every NFC team as being at least competitive, and there are several options on who to pick to represent them in the Super Bowl.

Houston and New England would seem to be the favorites in the AFC. Pittsburgh and Baltimore should be good, but those defenses, especially the Ravens' are getting very long in the tooth. Denver could be a threat with Manning, but who knows. I just don't see the AFC having the quality of years past.

Cam Newton is on my fantasy football team. If he has the sophomore jinx, my team is ****ed!

I picked him over Drew Brees, that's how much faith i have in this kid.

For those that are interested, the Eagles released backup QB Mike Kafka, instead going with Vick, Foles, Edwards under center.

They reached there 53 man roster before making a couple small moves for balance purposes, though I think they were someone dumb moves.

Pretty obvious, kafka sucks. Foles has proven to be way better in pre-season

There was never a doubt in my mind Foles would edge out Kafka for the backup job, the surprise was more Edwards stealing a spot with a preseason that most didnt see coming.

People dont realize this because Kafka got thrust into the starter role a lot because of Vick's injuries before Vince Young came along, but Kafka is still very much in the developmental stage of his career. He is also very smart and safe. His biggest flaw will likely always be no deep game or game breaking ability.

EDIT: All that said. I'm happy with their decision at QB. I think they made some odd decisions at LB and OL though.

Atleast in the first quarter, the Giants' defense looks beastly again.

Giants defensive line looks great. However the injuries to the DBs are making Romo look like a decent QB.

LOL no doubt, Tryon is not good a football. They have to do something about that soon, because it completely sinks rest of the defense.

I think they lost Rivers too, which is too bad, because I thought he played very well.

How great is it to have football back? I enjoyed this game despite it being my two least favorite teams playing.

Can't wait to watch the eagles d-line start crunching some quarterbacks. Angry Birds.

NFL football isn't hard for me to get into, could be the two worse teams in the league but if it's on I'll watch.

Same here. I was so pumped up for football, i would have watched the Browns vs. Jags.

Now the worst part of a game being played last night... No football until sunday. What am i supposed to do now?
