Any thoughts???

Pumpel and Spooner both wanted to be on a winning team and Watson got mad about being in trade talks. My opinion they are all whiners. Petes dont need players like that. All three players need to learn team dedication.
Not sure that answers the? There had to be something going on in the room, with the environment they are in, management, something....
As a Knight fan Im glad we got one of the whiners. Watson was a beast during their playoff run, you couldnt have asked more of a kid. Showed a lot of character in the breif time he was in London

The Petes have gone through a big overhaul over the past two-three years with a new GM. The transition hasn't been smooth and in combination with injuries, it being a small market (no money) there have been struggles. This year looks promising but we'll see.

Nick Ritchie is going to have a really big year this year I think. 35-40 goals 85 points. Eric Cornel has a very, very bright future.

Have you guys announced your roster yet?

If not, I can tell you that Alex Robinson has made the team.

How do you know this? I know he's signed but the Pete's have 8 returning D (I think). I hope you're right though.

Camp hasn't started yet.

The Petes signed Robinson, so it's no secret that he's made the team. Whether or not he plays in the top 6 is another story. I don't see why he would sign here unless he was guaranteed to start.

Manked, have you heard what the Petes have planned for Robinson?

It's not much of a prediction to say the Petes will finish in the top 4, because they should with the roster they're building. Reid should be let go if they don't finish high or have success in the playoffs.

From him directly.

All he said was that he was moving to Peterborough and not going back to his current school.

It's a good question.

I've followed Alex since Minor Midget and know both how effective he can be, but also how much he can make you scratch your head.

I think he can be an effective player if he meshes well with his partner and gets great coaching. If he DOES earn a start consistently in the Top 6, you'd definitely have to think that it would be on the bottom pairing.

I will give my opinion on the day as I was there for the entire day

Team Murphy

lost this morning 5-3. Ritchie was dominant at times and was driving the net hard. Nigro scored on a Ritchie rebound. Fitze scored but was knocked to the ice a few times by Maguire which was impressive. Not sure why Fitze is here still. Hatcher scored a nice goal and was working the whole game. Kinda surprised me to say the least. Varga stepped up and was very solid. Robson in net and didn't have much help other then Varga. Robson has worked hard this summer and I can see him coming in sometime this year (prediction). Cornel was not good the first two periods and was poking at the puck. Was take off his feet very easily. I don't think he has gained any weight..Bolland looked good as well and looking forward to seeing him full time this year. Lorentz was on this team (I think). Looking like another Hatcher deal, didn't show too much. Findlay is also going to be good for us and competes hard in the corners.

Team Yzerman

won both games 5-3 and 4-1. Nosad and Ceresnek were the most dominant in both games. Nosad scored in both games and played with different lines in each game. KoekKoek looked like he is back in great shape and will prove to be dominant "captain" of this years team. Menard has some upside that's for sure. Looking forward to seeing him with Ritchie and Quine (I hope). Pierog was just regular in both games and didn't do any thing flashy. Maguire was good in both games. Won all his battles in the corners and shows the grit we've been talking about. Caused a few turn overs that turned into goals. Disappointed in Ulett, thought he would be fighting for a spot but it doesn't appear as though he has a lot of compete in him. Campagna almost found out what Seymour's fist looks like as he crossed checked him in the corner. again Nosad was the story of this teams and looks a lot stronger this year. Heitkamp not sure what to say.

Team Gainey

lost 4-1. Not allot off of this team to talk about. Quine was impressive and was showing his speed and skills every time he had the puck. Seymour was steady Eddie and is playing with confidence which can only translate to positive things this year. Mathers was skating wrecking ball the first two periods and was running over everyone that came close to him. He is a man out there that's for sure. Tanus was a little confused out there and obviously needs to learn the Canadian game. Betzold and Thompson were invisible and didn't show much at all. saw a few flashes from Racine that I was expecting but thinking this may be over his head this year.

goalies

Robson looks solid and could be pushing for a spot but at the end of the day I would imagine he will be in Lindsay. Giggy is the strongest in camp and looks like he could steal the show and be number one before we know it. D'agg had a rough game and let in some questionable goals. Needs to pick it up for the morning game.

So far Cornel is reportedly underwhelming. You also once said the Petes would like Alvaro but no one has said anything about him yet. It's early though.

I'll have to agree Giggy has been on a roll for awhile. This is a guy that when he's on can remind you at times of a Patrick Roy type of confidence but when he's off you gotta yank him fast and settle him down or keep him out. I see his maturity and self control improving so he'll be a starter at some point and sooner than later and that will help the Petes out large.

betzold doesnt only belong on this team he will score atleast 25 goals he will be one of the best players on this team. cornel looks awful. dan boersma number 5 on white today will have a good shot on this team will get a long look. i have hatcher playing for lindsay i think hes behind the guys hes battling with. fitze has looked better then hatcher but hes an oa. but boersma really stood out in the maroon and white game he has looked great all camp and was excellent today.

JC Campagna played with the most heart during training camp. Hopefully the Petes deal both Fitze and Campanga so that they get the chance to play somewhere. Dags was by far the worse goalie on the ice during training camp sad to see he has more potential than what I saw out there wonder whats up with that if anything. Any trade rumors going around involving the Petes?

I think Hatcher will play for the Petes only because he was the guy that came over Watson. Just my opinion.

I once saw Michael Houser get lit up in a 48 hour time period. Good thing it takes more then two days to assess a player

Not blind, just intellegent.
