2012-2013 Heavyweights of the NHL list

Boston: Shawn Thornton

Buffalo: John Scott

Chicago: Brandon Bollig

Colorado: Possibly Patrick Bordeleau

Edmonton: Darcy Hordichuk

Florida: George Parros

Minnesota: Matt Kassian

Nashville: Brian McGrattan

New Jersey: Cam Janssen, Krys Barch

New York R.: Mike Rupp

New York I.: Matt Carkner, Eric Boulton

Pittsburgh: Maybe Steve MacIntyre

Philly: Jody Shelley

San Jose: maybe Frazer McLaren

St. Louis: Ryan Reaves

Toronto: Maybe Colton Orr

Maybe a couple more might get invited to camp and stick, I think this is all of them right now though.

You can add Konopka to Minnesota

I was debating whether to add him or not. Unfortunetly I can't currently edit my posts, or I'd add him and Westgarth to the OP.

I opened this thinking it was a list of the heaviest players and I wanted to see if Byfuglien topped the list.

Are you just taking stock of the best fighters on each team or are you taking the top fighters of the league only? I'd put Thorburn in for the Jets I guess but he doesn't stand a chance against some of those guys.

Just a weight-class thing. Thornburn's barely any worse at fighting than Rupp and a good size but he's a Light-heavyweight who fights more within his own range.

Lucic? Chara? Or are these just enforcers

Not talking about who he fights, but I would not consider Thorburn a light heavy. He weighs more than Hordi. He's a heavy who isn't very good at fighting.

dude what?

Lucic is a tough guy but he is not a heavyweight. He looked like a little kid when he fought enforcer Orr. Completely outclassed. Chara doesnt fight that much even though he could probably smoke anyone in the league

That's cool. I could post the other 200 fights he's won, but that would be wasting my time.

Hordi fights much stronger competition. That's what makes him a heavyweight. For example, Tyler Myers is not a heavyweight, even though he's fought before.

Thornton isn't a heavyweight but he fights anyone. Hordichuk isn't a heavyweight, I'd say Eager is a lot tougher and Eager is like 230lbs.

It would because they weren't against heavyweights...

I can already count two he's fought on this limited list here.

Put together a bigger list and you'll see more.

Kassian in juniors doesn't count. He'd destroy Lucic now. Even Rupp would beat him.

lucic would destroy konopka so if hes in the conversation then lucic should be. Lucic has fought Orr (Lost) Carkner (Edge lucic/Draw) Neil x2 (Win,Draw) Erskine x2 (Lost,Draw) Boll x2(Won,Edge Boll/Draw) Boulton (Edge Boulton) Rosehill (Edge Lucic) Vandemeer (Edge Vandy, Draw) along with beating abunch of middleweights and light heavys bradley, prust, brookbank, mccormick, harrison, brown etc. etc. those in bold were when lucic 18 or 19 years old fighting grown men

Nah, he lost to Orr, so he's out of the club.

Deryk Engelland should probably be mentioned on this list. I would consider him an enforcer.

Eager had trouble with Dean Arsene
